New Shoes? Help

Hi....Im new to the Bentley forum. Just purchased a 08 BC GT Speed with under 5K miles on it. I see several CGT's with 22" wheels. Any known problems with a larger wheel?

Larger wheels are great for cruising. Looks really nice and fills out that wheel well. Get two sets, one forged aluminum mono block if you drive like the Doc, one set of 22s for cruising and flossing. 22s add more weight to your ride, you have rubber bands for tires, you might need a lowering module, or lowering links, and you better watch for potholes. Now if you step on that gas like some of these psychos on this forum, you better stick with 20s.

I have 20's and like them. Larger wheels look great but could give a different ride. As Wedgeduck says rubber bands. Some of the guys around here jack up the puck-up trucks and but large wheels with aggressive tires on them. They look wild(calling it good is a matter of opinion) but they handle awful. Keep the old wheels and spend the coin to experiment.

I think the new GT Speed come stock on 22's.

SS, ISR and Speed, all on 21s if you choose them.

Those 21s blew up(the tires) on top gear when they ran the SS. A lot of her being a cow comments I can do without. Only us Bentley owners can call her that!. Oh Doc, I found brake disks that are 37.5 pounds lighter than OEM.. This, sway bars( because you do a lot of twisties), 20" aluminum monoblocks, some sticky tires, and get rid of that OEM muffler and you are the chuppacabra of them there Tennessee hills. You know you and I run almost the same HP right now.

I may be in the market for a wheel or two as you recall i am trying to fix a vibration that is not tire related. I have thought of reducing unsprung weight since that is the most detrimental to handling. Cost will be a factor to me and being able to go in stages if $ are high.

Hang in there Doc, I will get you those items for great deals. Don't go spending crazy money. Unsprung weight can be dramatic reduced through lighter wheels and brake disc. With adjustable swaybars, you can't go wrong. The exhaust mufflers, I have two designs, the one on the vehicle at the moment should suit your style. I will give you at manufacturing cost, I just got to let them know to fit it into your OEM tips. Mines were built to accomadate with my areodynamics. My new exhaust setup will run 3" from the upper down pipes(another set of cats to delete, this one is the true down pipes which is above the down pipes where Fabspeed has stopped) all the way to my new twin canister design mufflers. Can't wait to hear and run her.

Let me get my wheels looked at and go from there. I do like the look of the bentley 20 chromes so I'd have to love another wheel to spend large coin. I like the way you think so you will be in my loop of advisors.

Something that we did, our forged monoblock MB2 wheels on a Bentley Continental GT we did some time ago. Owner actually did the whole BullRun Rally on these earlier.

And here is a Bentley Supersports we did a few months ago, also the same wheel, same size, same gorgeous looks!

Yeah, that car ran the Bull Run Rally with some monoblock 22"s on rubber bands. That driver got some *****! As for me, I ran 22"s for years on all sorts of vehicles. They looked sick on a lot of rides. I run them now just to cruise. Sick five star concave monoblocks on that Bullrun Bentley.

If you need some, let me know. We got a few brand new designs coming out, might be something you would like to see together with our current range. What you roll with now?

I am on Savinni Sm7 monoblocks 22s on Nitto Invo. They are actually kinda light for 22s. The Nitto Invos are actually really sticky tires. I had my doubts at first about them but they are actually good tires. I have HREs on 22, Lowenharts on 22" and some Giovanna 22" that I haven't used yet. Going back to 20" monoblocks around XMas time when all my motor and tranny work(heavy upgrades) are done. Then I am going to drive the crap out of it!

That sounds nice. Too bad you don't have snow for some more fun! Like something from our range, maybe we can hook you up?
