Lower protective rubber piece near Shifter broken

Lower protective rubber piece near Shifter broken
Has anyone had an issue on their GTC where there is 2 rubber like pieces near where the shifter slides, came disconnected?
Called a bentley dealer, they said they wont replace it but need an entire shifter assembly to do it. Which i think is BS if you got the right hands you can repair it yourself.
