Upgrade Intercooler Turbo Rubber Hoses

Had a chance to inspect the condition of the intercooler/turbo hoses on my 2007 GTC. I noticed in grabbing the hose at the intake as it connects to the intercooler an abnormal feel in its consistency. Felt soft in areas especially on the back side of the hose closest to the exhaust. One of the hose bends on the drivers side seemed to be pinched and restricted due to the collapsing walls of the hose. No splits or leaks but decided it was time to upgrade as a loss of boost from a leaking hose would mean a loss in performance or possibly worse. Found a local distributor that was able to source reinforced silicone hoses in the oem form factor. The new hoses are stiff, solid and of great quality. There are two upper and two lower hoses which connect the intake to intercooler and intercooler to turbo on both sides.

Unfortunately no part numbers as they are custom one offs. The new hose is of 5 mm wall thickness reinforced with 4 Polyester and Nomex. Additionally constructed with Mesh layers to withstand higher pressures than original rubber hose.

One set available. Pm with any serious interest.

Not your average Joe DIY.

As the upper hoses are close to the manifold could I say that replacing those would be good enough?

Depends...
Surprisingly the lower hoses can be accessed by removing the lower cover with access from underneath of the radiator . Checked a friends Gt and we located a crack at the lower hose. Replaced all four hoses in 2 average Joe hours.

Its probably possible but not for me. You really want to get the best snug and twist tight fit possible prior to tightening the clamps. I really feel for me bumper removal was best.

Also noticed a build up or slight accumulation of oil at the discharge tube between the turbo and intercooler. From what I've been told this is normal.
