Camshaft sensor bank B.

Hi.

I have twice recently had the MIL lamp come on.
When I checked the fault it turned out to be the Camshaft sensor bank B.
Not a major problem I thought, until I read the 'IETIS' manual and found out that the engine needs to be removed to change this part. What a nightmare!

Anyone else had this problem and what's the financial damage for engine removal?

I'm also thinking that if the engine is out, then the others should be changed too.

Mileage is just over 53K so I am a bit miffed.

Les.

before just condemning sensor i would check the wiring and carry out a pin drag on the ecm in question, you have the wiring diags on the CD so should not be too hard.

Thanks Bentleytech.

That sounds complicated to me but I will have a look.
I did 'T-cut' and clean the engine bay the other day so maybe I upset something.

Regards. Les.

well it is not as hard as you think, check wiring diagram to see which control module and pin number and just check for corrosion, damp etc. then check continuity to sensor if poss. i would hate for you to drop engine etc and replace sensor to no avail !

Me too! It would have to be a dealer job. My days of fitting V8's to Ford Cortina's is well over.

Thanks again.

Les.
