Yes they should be better. Back in 2008 there was a campaign from the factory recommending replacement if certain codes appeared. At the moment I will try and dig it out of my files and see what codes are usually present

Here it seems that @Zbird 's P2279 fault was caused by a faulty connection on one of the MAF sensor plugs.

Can you confirm the outcome of this way back then ?

Holy thread revival. Ten years later.
I had taken out both MAFs and bought special MAF cleaner spray. That did the trick.
If I remember correctly, they were a pain to get to.
If cleaning alone does not fix your code switch them side to side to see if the code moves to the other side.
