When nearly half the board posts are ads....
Just start sending money to IB to pay for the forum so they don't need sponsors...and thank Shank for selling us out....you can go start a new forum and it will be ok for a while and then you will be right back where you started...I just put all the sponsors on ignore...works for me
Ahh, didn't know you can 'ignore' them. Will find that setting now. Thanks for the tip!
ADDED: Oh well, seems the board ignores the ignore list.

ugh im so happy someone posted this!! Its beyond annoying, sometimes i sign in and the entire first page when i hit new posts is adds. I understand you need vendors but to allow them to start a 10 and 15 threads at once is just crazy
Well, let's do ourselves a favor...if you see a vendor that you think is overstepping use the report function...if IB gets enough negative feedback they will take some action...it will mean a lot more coming from you guys that it does coming from me (probably because I am always complaining)

heyyyyyyyy...
Just kidding.
On a serious note, even as a vendor I HATE when I go through my "New Posts" list and see the same damn post listed 30 times by the same vendor in every single forum. It really is a misuse of vendor privileges I think.
As a vendor, I always try to target my advertising posts to the forum they are directly related to. Sometimes that maybe 2, or 3 at the VERY most.
I also try to offset my advertising with legitimate contributions to the community, which I think is part of a vendor's responsibility here. Nothing is more annoying then a vendor that comes in and post 35 spam posts and then never says another word.

I guess they are many who's and a single what...IB is Internet Brands and they own many auto related forums including this one
Tom...if all our vendors used your approach there probably wouldn't be any complaints...unfortunately, that is not so....we appreciate the thoughtful manner in which you conduct your business on the forum

I thought the site was getting over commercial and just thought it was a down for the members that own the cars. I have been lazy about posting new and interesting threads………………………..wait………………………… have I ever done that before????
Not a lot going on right now for me with the car and in one respect that is good. All is smooth sailing at the time. Nothing gets the community fired up like *****ing and moaning. Cool now we can gripe about the sponsors.
Let em post but notice they get few replies. I wish them all well but do not need them at the time. Who knows someday I will. Oh I will let them pay for the site I'm down on wasting cash at the moment.

I refuse to go through and put a sale post in every forum! I won't do it to you guys!

While I agree that advertising is getting a bit annoying (Piloti shoes, seriously?) perhaps it's worth to take a look at the other side of the medal. 95% of all posts on all car forums consist of 2 things - issues and modifications. Seeing as there are only so many exhaust kits, tunes, wheels and spoilers that can be made for one car (I think CGT is the only model getting modified), the only logical explanation for lack of new posts is that our cars are very reliable. For example, I was browsing a Range Rover Sport forum (had one 7 years ago and thinking of getting a '13 RRS S/C for the wife) and geez those folks don't have it easy. They got sunroof leaks, suspension clunking, engine knocking, windows that fail to go up/down, transmission issues, differential issues, rattles/squeaks, stereos rebooting, failure to start, etc. These guys are heroes for enduring what they have to endure on a daily basis
But they do have a lot to post about. In contrast, the 2011 SS I just traded in had two real issues in the 1.5 years I had it - the power steering pump failed after a track day at NJMP and a soft close motor failed in the driver's door. I also read the full service history (included with the car) and it had no major issues in the first 2 years of it's life either.
So what would you guys rather have - a reliable car or a boring forum?
