Interesting ANY key will turn the ignition switch. Never heard this in my 38 years of collecting Rolls Royces, Jaguars and MB! This is my first Bentley and learning a lot but mostly negative!.

Not unique to Bentley. The " immo" system works this way.

As well as changing the internal electronic part, you also change the key blade over, it's held in with a very small roll pin. You have to make sure that you get the spring loaded part set correctly too but it's not difficult.

Wondering if a Bentley Continental FOB can be programmed to the Arnage?

Doubtful since it is a different generation immo system. Please note that a previously programmed Bentley Continental GT key fob cannot be adapted to a different vehicle then originally programmed.

The RFDI chipped key system on our Bentley Continentals is known as kessey immobilization. One can searches online kessey immobilization, to find out more. The system is restrictive for a reason, keeps thieves from stealing our cars.

Also, and the remote control door lock buttons on the key fob are a different protocol than the RFDI chip for starting the car. The key fob performs two entirely separate functions in two entirely different ways.

The Bentley Arnage is BMW engineered, that's the drivetrain . The Bentley Continental GT s are Volkswagen engineered. There's chance, you would have to do the homework, that a key from BMW might be compatible with your system. Since Rolls Royce is owned by BMW perhaps a Rolls-Royce dealer is more advantageous.

Just wanted to pass on my massive THANK YOU to both Zaos for firstly posting the thread & secondly to 1eapplebaum for the re-post.
When I purchased the car a couple of weeks ago it came with 3 fobs, one fob the key didn't match the car so obviously the last owner was going to do this swap but didn't.
I've just completed the swap with no problems, the pictures were so helpful!
Well happy!
