CTEK 7002 Multi US

Just received the ctek 7002, along with the cig adapter. I plugged it in the cig lighter and the 7002 keeps giving me an error, it then goes out but no charging is being done has anyone experience this, if so what are my actions. Could it be a faulty charger, Thanks in advance, Daryelh.

Hello Daryehl,
Are you inserting it into the cig lighter in the interior, or the 12 volt power socket in the trunk ?

I tried both but in the trunk it didn't have power but in the interior rear cig had power but kept getting the error light it goes out eventually but no other step function. I want to hook it straight to the battery but can't figure out how to remove the black cover on the positive side any thoughts

I had a similar issue a few times with the trunk plug in. Try hooking the cig adapter in first and then connect the charger. Have the charger plugged into the supply voltage before plugging it into the cig adapter. Make sure you have pushed the cig adapter in as far as it will go in. If it is out slightly it will give the error light.

Thanks Ron, I believe I found the problem I have no power to any of the cig lighters. Do you know which fuses under the steering wheel controls the front, rear and the trunk cig lighters Thanks, Daryelh in advance.

Here's the fuse manual to the 2004 Bentley in PDF, should be the same as your 2007.

On my 2008 they are located on the lower portion of the fuse panel. All three trunk, front, rear, housings. All 3 are 15 amp fuses. From lower left to right #6 fuse is the trunk, 7 front, 8 rear lighter housings.

I replaced all fuses, to no avail. I guess my 07 has no power to the cig lighters when the car is off. I tried hooking my cell phone charger when the car is off, no power but when I crank it they all have power. So, I guess I will be taking it to the dealership to have the other cable put on the battery direct. Any other solutions, Thanks Daryelh

If you are going to the dealer or a good electrical shop you might consider having them make a jumper to the cigar housing to be hot all the time. It is a very simple procedure. Have a jumper harness made to go from the left battery B plus to the cig housing. My GT cig housing are hot all of the time. I do not know why your lighters were never designed to work that way. The trunk cig housing is there for the ease of charging.

I don't know why mines are not either. Could it be that it is a mulling edition. I wouldn't think that would make a difference. Bentley had told me that they could put one in for 855.00. But they also told me to drive it at least 35 miles straight a week and I won't need a charger. Just wanted one because I travel a lot.

You can go to any auto parts store and purchase an adapter with a cig housing harness attached with alligator clips that will attach to the battery terminals and just take the side trim panel off and connect the adapter under the panel. You then can plug in the charger. Your cost will be under $10.00. You then can take the saved $845.00 and have a great dinner.

My Ctek came with two sets of leads. One was for permanent connection to the battery posts and the other had Crocodile clips, They both have the socket for the charger cable on one end. It would be easy to get a couple of clips and attach them to the ones you have I reckon.
Like Ron said, I just have them poking out from under the side panel.

Les.

Ebay sells a C-TEC adaptor for a cig lighter for only a few dollars. Works great on my 05 GT during hibernation.

....Just having completed my first and only Main Battery (left) change...I am now an expert...that black plastic cover on positive side gave me a problem also...I studied it and tugged and pulled for an hour...then took a nap...after that...just reach up on top middle of the black cover, you can't see it...but there is a cute little latch on top...when you undo that latch the top half of cover comes down...then you can lift it off the 2 bottom catches...I just got the same charger and going to hook up the eyelets to the battery...JimB
