Getting Rid of the front plate bracket

I'd like to remove the front license plate bracket since AZ doesn't use one. I am looking for the simple way out first, so I don't have to do a bondo hole patch and repaint. I've seen replacement screws with colored dress caps (either in silver or black). Anyone tried these in the past? Was it a viable solution? Do you have a source for the caps? Thanks

Thanks, just what I was looking for. I can try this as a first step and always go for a repair/repaint if they don't look right.

Quick update - I got a hold of Eric (Thanks Chuck). Found my paint code and got that info to him. Then I removed the black Bentley plate to measure the dia of the pop rivets to comply with Eric's 9/32" max hole dia repair, only to realize they (Bentley) used FIVE...yes five pop rivets through the front bumper. That's bad enough if it was the end of the story, but it's not. On top of those five holes, two more holes were drilled into the front bumper for the plate screws, now up to SEVEN...yes seven holes to patch up.

Needles to say, if I go the route of the body colored screw caps from Eric, it's going to look like the car has the measles. So, I've ordered a brushed SS blank plate and I'm going to do the best I can to make the front look unobtrusive. Then when I can't stand it anymore, I'll probably remove the bumper and go for a repair/repaint.

Darned you NY and NJ!.......was a front plate REALLY that necessary?......Couldn't you just exempt Bentley from needing a front plate? Bentley owners don't speed or commit crimes anyway...LOL...

Unfortunately, for now, I think I'm going to leave it on as I can't see any easy fix for 7 holes in the bumper. If I could take it off, it'd be yours. I've ordered a brushed SS blank plate. I'll see how that looks, but I'll need to mount it to the existing bracket.

@bwings: Do a search for 'bentley logo plate' and you'll find some nice offerings for an engraved lic plate with the logo on either brushed steel, gold or other colors - under $30 on Amazon (is there anything they DON"T sell?).

@edinp: I'm out of town right now but I think I have an original front plate holder in the car. I'm in FL so I have no use for it.

Have you considered using the tow hook for license plate attachment. As an example....

Steven - That's a good option for edinp. I like that better than punching the car in the nose with pop rivets....

Bruce - Nothing Amazon doesn't sell, LOL...even checking accounts now...haha....I did a pretty extensive search since I'll be stuck with some option using the front bracket for now. I really didn't want the Bentley name/logo on the plate like the one I have in my intro pic. I haven't found a single person who looks at the car and doesn't know instantly what it is. So, I opted for a blank brushed SS plate. Hopefully it'll go with the Tempest Silver. If not, I'll try another option. I can do this over and over for a long while as I am far from reaching the price of a repaint.

Steve
