05’ Bentley GT oil dipstick and measurement?
05’ Bentley GT oil dipstick and measurement?
I, like a lot of others, have a broken plastic tip on my oils dipstick...
Can someone that has a NON-broken one please measure it to tell everyone the overall length and measurements for the low and high marks?
Also, if anyone knows if an Audi or VW dipstick will work, please post the type and model number(s).
We all tha k you 🤟

I too am one of the unfortunate ones with a broken tip on the dipstick. If yours broke where they typically break, it is right at the FULL mark. So if oil shows, then you're overfilled. After some searching for a replacement, I decided to create an alternative so that I can check the oil level without a replacement.
Purchase a length of braided cable/wire from a HW store like HD. The braid diameter I chose is 3/32" (0.093"). I first plastidipped the ends, then epoxy coated the end that will submerge in the oil. Create a "marker" on the dry end that aligns with the base/stop of the dipstick.
I keep my broken dipstick in the engine holder. When I want to check oil level, remove the broken one, insert the braided cable, take an oil reading. Remove then hold next to the broken stick. If the oil level reaches the tip of the broken plastic, the level is full. If it is lower than that, add oil until it reaches the place of the tip. After checking, replace the broken tip back in the engine (holder); store your replacement cable in the boot, or on a shelf for the next time.
Here are some pics. See if it makes sense:
