In Europe we got the digital audio broadcast, so CD-quality via Radio. But older cars do not have it, so is there a way to upgrade the audio to DAB/digital radio?
The analog radio is going out in a few years anyway so I am looking for a nice upgrade or something
Ok I understand, the old Analogue system will not work even if you fit a Dab Arial, you need to install a a after market system but that's not all, there is a system called BenHur once that is installed you can fit very much any head unit you prefer. This will bring your car system unto date to 2019. You can go onto my post "Bentley GT 2006 speaker wiring colour codes" it may give you an idea what you need and how far you want to go with your system.
If you need any further help do contact me I'm here to help ...
The BenHur system is not a option, I dont like the look. Saw it in a customer car.
I am in beautiful Switzerland :-)
I thought perhaps there is a upgrade like it is possible for the VW Phaeton I saw once but forgot the tools.
Or the TV in my car is off anyway here in Switzerland, no analog TV anymore, so there would be a free button on the system?!

The Bentley infotainment system is not possible to upgrade to digital. Saying that you can buy after market Bluetooth gadgets that you are able to use your mobile phone or even tablet to make and receive calls and listen to the radio ... It all depends on how far you want to go with your system, if you don't use it a lot then maybe pointless upgrading the whole lot, then your best option is the Bluetooth device. If you do want the full works then its total upgrade but you don't need to change the speakers or the amp, just the head unit and the after market unit ...

You can fit the later digital tv receiver which will also give you digital radio, I've done this using part number 3D0919148 to replace 3D0919146. I can't remember if it cuts the sound once moving as it does the picture for DVB. Car is being painted at the moment so can't check but will when I get it back next week with a bit of luck. UK based so may not be relevant for Switzerland.
My old post copied below.
I've replaced the analogue TV tuner (part number 3D0919146) with a second hand digital TV tuner (part number 3D0919148) and not only has that given me digital TV but digital radio too. A change well worth the 30 minutes effort if you can find the part cheap enough. Steps as follows:-
Remove fuse for TV tuner.
Force re scan of Can gateway using VCDS or similar, channel 19, code 0000006 tells the gateway to discover the modules that are available and because you've pulled out the fuse, it will not see this module and think it is not installed.
Drop parcel shelf in boot.
Replace TV tuner (some butchery required of the aerial connectors).
Replace fuse for TV tuner.
Force re scan of Can gateway using VCDS or similar, channel 19, code 0000006 tells the gateway to discover the modules that are available and because you've replace the fuse, it will discover the new module.
Clear any errors using VCDS or similar on channel 57.
Trigger an auto scan via the central console and be patient while auto scan discovers channels!
Re-fix parcel shelf.
Works a treat and now have digital radio via the TV function.

That sounds exactly like something I am looking for if it works when moving. If you then can post some pictures of how it looks now on the (radio) screen, would be cool! I will go on the hunt for sucha module. Thank you very much
Hello @molphar ,
I can only assume that you are asking where the "8E0035593F" is located, and being that you are not in the America's, it will not be located in your vehicle at all, the part number that you posted is a Sirius Satellite Radio module used only in the America's.
