Thinking about a pre-owned GTC
Thinking about a pre-owned GTC
My dream car, a bentley GTC. Im curious about the cost of ownership. Maintenance costs, repairs, etc. Although i am way out of my league buying a car like this, i can afford it and I cant take the money with me.
I have my concerns. I am someone who always does everything myself as far and maintenance and repairs unless its too much for me to handle. (need special tools and diagnostic equipment, etc) . This would be a weekend car for sure but likely 8-10k per year.
My questions are these:
Has anyone purchased one of these used? I am thinking a 2012 or newer and hoping to find a CPO.
What am i looking at for maintenance costs for a year?
Does anyone know of any inherent problems that these cars face at certain mileage or age?
Anything in particular i should avoid, ie: 4.0L or 6.0L?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Go for it! I bought a low mileage, one owner, always garaged, 2007 one a few weeks ago and am loving it.
Low mileage, single owner, well looked after, ideally kept indoor, full Bentley service is a must.
I can’t comment on the service cost yet but there’s plenty of info on this forum. I.m doing mostly motorway miles and can easily get 24 mpg on a run driving near the speed limit. Pottering about in town drops to single figures though as does spirited driving ;-)
good luck with your search!

I just bought a 2013 GT with 44k miles. I went to California to buy it - one owner vehicle and it was immaculately kept with full service records. It has been 9 months since and I am narrating my experiences in terms of maintenance costs. Dont mean to discourage you or anything but trying to make you aware of the costs. Of course every vehicle is different, so take that into consideration -
1) March ' 19 - Oil, air filter, routine maintenance and battery change - 4k (Bentley)
2) April '19 - Noise under the seat - 1.1k (Bentley)
3) June '19 - Tires - 1.2k (Indy)
4) November - '19 - Front air struts & brake rotors/pads - 6.8k just parts (did it myself)
Overall - 13k in expenses in less than a year!
I use it as a weekend car and do not rake up much miles. I also have a trickle battery charger and is always garaged. These cars are expensive to maintain but from what I have learnt from this forum, if you are handy with the right tools, you can save yourself a fortune.
Hope this helps.
