Level Fault - Already replaced struts and valve block
I was driving along and greeted with a level fault message. After pulling over, I noticed the car was sagging in the front right corner (half the tire rubber was underneath the fender). The left front corner was also low but not as bad. My two front struts and the valve block have been replaced within the last 2 years (and I average something like 3,000kms per year driving at most). My first thought was that the pump may have given out, but when I was fiddling, I tried the "high suspension" mode, and the car would go into its high mode without a problem. When I pressed normal mode, the fronts would lower to a sagging point (asymmetrically with the right being lower than the left). The car keeps its height after being parked over night in high mode. Thoughts? TIA.
Use VCDS to scan code..
maybe strut defective ? do u use original shock or arnott or chinese copy one?
I'm using OEM Bentley/Audi strut. Trying to borrow VCDS to scan this week, but was hoping to narrow down the search so the garage doesn't take 1 week and many many $$ to diagnose. wishful thinking perhaps!
Hello Dskippy,
Did you check the rod at the at the level sensor on the front right highlighted in yellow in my attached picture, or the sensor wiring plug marked in blue ?
My sensor is unplugged in my picture, also please disregard the bungie cord holding my axle up, as this is an engine out picture.

thanks Johnny! It saved me a bunch of effort and turns out it’s this piece. This is the level sensor?
Yes, that is the level sensor rod, it appears that the plastic insert that has a socket for the ball on the sensor arm is missing, fell out, or could still be on the ball of sensor arm, rotate the rod up 180 degrees and you should see the ball on sensor it hooks up to.
Post a picture of the sensor itself so we can see if it is ok.

looks like it had just separated but was still plugged in. The new sensor did the trick and was simple to install! Thanks again it saved me a lot of hassle.
upon a closer look, my rear sensors seem to be showing cracks too so I’ll be ordering those to preemptively rectify those. Curious to know how often do people find themselves changing these, and whether we should be doing these as part of regular maintenance as a consumable?
