I may be the only one silly enough to run my Bentley as a daily driver all winter, but something has me mildly annoyed, mostly because I'm so fearful of something going really wrong.
In my car, the warning chime goes off as soon as the temperature goes below 40 degrees. It's valet-parked in a heated underground garage, so it comes out with the sensor showing 55 degrees or whatever (I don't pay attention) and after about five minutes as it sinks to the ambient outside temp, the damn chime goes off, scaring me. I look around and see nothing, I've learned to catch the little snowflake which shows up.
I think this is absolutely useless, who cares that it's below 40? I could see an argument, not a good one, but an argument for below 33 degrees. I didn't see any way to turn this off.
Is this an owner-changeable setting?
Other than that, my car has been incredible. Not a single problem, it's been lovely.
Mines used as a daily in the Alps in the winter .
Its something I find useful, but yes I understand your anxiety.Europe cars it’s 4 degrees Celsius.
Handy to know the outside temp and be reminded .The sun melts snow n ice and you can easy drive into shady frost pockets where a minute ago the surface was just wet , next it’s ice .

Agree, completely unnecessary ‘feature’. The 40 degree chime warning is supposedly bridges and overpasses which may freeze more quickly or remain frozen longer.
I suspect a cover your *** feature for VAG in case of a lawsuit from wealthier clientele who have more means and are also more likely to sue. (Even if it’s their own or loved ones stupidity) Not meant to disparage anyone, just statistics and legal tactics in our current judicial climate.
John, those are great pictures. I'd show my car covered in salt (went through the car wash yesterday and it didn't even get it all off!) but I'm not in the Alps, it would just be dismal. In Chicago, they put down so much salt the roads are actually white for a while, then each drizzle or light rain, your car gets covered with salt again. Some mayor, 40 years ago, lost her re-election for not clearing the streets, so now the salt trucks are out at the first flake.
I wash it all the time (tunnel car wash, so sue me, it's better than keeping salt on it) but I fear I'm going to regret this some day, so much salt....
