hi dark green ..i think you may be right as i think the steering angle sensor must be coded differently dispite the part number being the same.
i thought i would give it a try by replacing the steering angle sensor with one i had lying around off a pheaton before i took the plunge and ordered a used one off a bentley breaker for 500 quid..worth a go i thought but nope, the car could not communicate with it.
so when i fit the replacement full unit iv purchased will i need to code that to the car or will it be plug and play ?

thanks for that info dark green i will check that later..
it appears that i may possibly have to calibrate it at the worst using my ross tech , i have sourced the info as follows should any one else have to recalibrate the
steering angle sensor and link is here it appears you can code the unit too but i dont feel experienced enough with ross tech to do it,
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...ch_5.7)#Coding
will keep posted with my endeavours

ok..the new gearchange steering wheel sensor and indicator unit was swopped over today for a replacement unit i picked up from ebay for 180 quid.
fitted no problems about a 30 min job , but would not speak to rest of car so had to be coded as above, i couldnt do it on my software so nipped it to my indie who put iit on the bentley software and 10 mins later all is good , he had to pop some code into it then did a steering angle basic set.
just letting any one else know should they have the g85 steering angle fault throw up with all the abs lights etc.
good luck all
