Honestly, it depends on what you want. A Bentley GT with 560hp vs 600hp isn't that much of a performance difference. These are luxury cars first, and performance second. When I was evaluating a Bentley purchase vs other manufacturers, I certainly didn't buy it because I wanted a "sports car". On the other hand, if it makes you feel better to see the V12 on the fender go for it. 99.9% of the people who see you driving it will not have a clue.
Hello @Linescreamer ,
Not to bust your chops, and being that @CatmanV2 did not specify which year Supersports I will start at the 2010.
The SS HP is 621 vs. the 552 for the standard GT.
The SS torque is 590 vs 479 for the standard GT, equals big difference.
The Supersports has the quick shift transmission.
And it is a W12 not a "V12"..
The Supersports also has a wider rear tract, and suspension upgrades over the standard.
Edit: I now realize that the comparison was for Speed vs. Supersports, so the not a huge difference in power and torque, 600hp vs. 621hp, and torque is 553 vs. 590, plus those beautiful brakes as Nader mentioned.

I'm not at all interested if anyone knows what it is. I need to scratch the W12 itch. Luxury is good. I don't want a sports car
The power and torque updates seem pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, and, I *guess* that I can get a map that would do much the same thing anyway. (If I really felt that I needed the extra 20hp)
Are the brakes that good? Little worried about CC brakes in that, clearly, they are horrifically expensive if they need replacing, but OTOH they should last pretty much the life of the car (assuming they are like the Maserati GT ones)? The brakes on the Speeds I've tested seemed just fine.
Lets set the record straight, by no means is the Supersports a "Sports car". More like a very comfortable GT car. Also while the power difference might be only 20-30hp, the supersports weighs 1,000 pounds less than that of the continental GT. Not sure about the Speed. Lastly, the brakes are that good and them some. Even at 4,900 lbs, the stopping ability is insane. Given normal street driving they are supposed to last many years and miles... Just not sure about the pads. Oh, that reminds me, there is a lot less dust with the carbon setup as well.

Hello @Nader ,
I am not sure where you got the "1000 LBS" from, but the SS is not a thousand pounds lighter than the standard GT, it is about 250 pounds lighter, the standard GT is 5181 or thereabouts, and the SS is 4939 lbs.
Now that I think about it, I am not sure where I got that from. Maybe topgear. Wow I thought it was much lighter... still 250lbs isn't bad.

I am not going to argue over small details and that is what the Speed and Supersport offer. I have the 2013 12 cylinder 560ish hp and the brake upgrade and it's a beast! I don't think that a speed or supersport is going to make that much difference in a car of that weight. Although, it does have the W12 badge on the fender!
Before buying it, I looked at everything from a Saleen S7 to a lambo. I decided on the Bentley GTC because I wanted a luxury car to drive that was fast. If you want a fast sports car, I suggest you DO NOT buy a Bentley, it is not a sports car.

Johnny, is that due to the seats? I'd still need four.

Ta. Coming from Maseratis I know the voice of reason
Its hard to beat the prices of the 2010-2011 Supersports. Garage queens with next to no mileage are going in the 70's. My buddy just sold his 2011 with comfort interior for low 70s with 13,000 miles on the clock. Aside from the common issues to look out for, they are basically bullet proof.

You can literally DOUBLE those prices here in Australia.
Hi @CatmanV2,
There is a whole list online that will tell you how they cut weight here and there, it isn't the rear seats though, If you add up the SS rear area with all that carpet, padding, shelf, etc, it probably equal to the rear seats themselves, I just weighted the lower portion of one rear seat, it weights 6 pounds 4 ounces, it is only a plastic shell, foam and leather, I am not going to pop out the upright portion at the moment, but when I do I will weight it, I am guessing it to be about 9-10 pounds, so in total for both rear seats I say 31-34 pounds.
Come to think of it, I think that I list the weights of the door panels, front seats, and rear seats, along with some other items a while back on this forum for a member who wanted to know the weight savings if he stripped the vehicle out, iirc for racing.
Johnny
EDIT:
Turns out that I did not weigh the rear seats back in 2016, only the door panels and front seats on a 2006 GT.
