I purchased this on Amazon and it is like the one you received from O'Reilly's. I ended up getting the Dorman 902-919 Radiator Coolant Hose Connector Compatible with Select Audi / Volkswagen Models. I crushed my plug to get it out, then took the plug from the Dorman and just tossed the rest. I believe the items that Dorman calls their OE Solutions is using the original OEM to make the parts.

Thank you very much. I’m gonna try to replace the plug without taking It off the car. Wish me luck. Hehe

I did mine without taking anything off of the car. I did end up shredding the old. Good luck.

I just got the same Dorman valve as you suggested and took the handle off as Johnny suggested with plyers. The tabs that hold that handle in place are very hard so I don't think you can squeeze them. I think an easy way to remove the handle is to heat up a wire with a blow torch and slide it in the 2 slots and melt down the 2 plastic tabs after which the handle should slide off easily.
