Question Bentley Continental GT wheel fitment 275/40R20

Hello,

I was surfing all over google and couldn't find information about wheel diameters and solutions.
Question: Does my Bentley Continental Gt 2006y fit 275/40/R20 wheels?
In all web sites information basically is the same. It goes like 275/35/R20 for 2003-2011 and from 2011-2018 can go with 275/40/R20. Does suspension get also some kind of facelift and for that reason it can fit this diameter?
I use this site to get comparison from current winter wheels. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ my current wheels diameter are 255/45/R19, and summer wheels will be 275/40R20, over all it is only 2.5% bigger. Also i already bought tyres and rims, so question two, is there are solution to fit this diameter if it turns out...

You seem to be conflating tyre size (275/35/R20) with wheel size.

I can check what I have on mine tomorrow (I hope) but I have 20" *wheels* and 275/35/R20 rings a bell.

Rather doubt that 275/40/R20 *tyres* would make a blind bit of difference, but your speedometer will under read a bit. By my maths about 3.8%

It could just be that 40s are more readily available, or that the engineers wanted a slightly more compliant ride on the 2011 and up.

Thank you for answer, I guess we will see in practice.
Main doubt is what in facelift engineers changed something in suspension. Because now there is old audi A8 and Phaeton stuff, maybe in FL models they improved some parts from aluminium casts .

The material would make no difference. The geometry *might* but that would have different part numbers and all sorts.

It's really not a function either. I suspect you'll be fine with your choice of tyre size

@Lucas777 - please keep us updated on how these tyres fit your GT. I've a 2010 and am thinking the same when it comes time to replace. There is much better selection of All Season tyres in a 275/40/20 than a 275/35/20 fitment.

Thanks.

Sure, next week rims probably will be ready. Also 275/40 is much softer for a ride. Which is my primary goal

I wondered if there might be I wonder also if that's why the spec changed: To give owners more choice.

Thanks man ), yes, I was aiming for comfort ride, and its is noticeable difference between 275/35 and 275/40, softer on potholes and road imperfections. Colour custom from VAG code, but without polish
