Brakes noise
Looking for some advice. Recently I have noticed my brakes are making a high-pitched singing when I stop. It's very minor and seems random, it doesn't always happen. I am assuming it means my brakes are ready to be replaced. I have to drive down to FL and I would like to take the GT. It doesn't look like I can get anyone to look at the brakes or replace them before I need to leave. Does this "singing" mean I need to replace them ASAP or can I try to schedule while it is in FL. Guessing Bentley service may be a bit easier to find in FL than IL? Tempted to do it myself but being my first time I am not sure I want to try and pull that off this Saturday on my own.
Best to remove one wheel at a time and visually inspect the thickness of the pads and spin the axles. Assuming there is reasonable brake pads left drive to Florida😎. Remaining thickness .125 -.188 of an inch is excessive wear but would get to Florida via Interstate cruising. This "singing"is assuming wear indicator rub.
Agreed rushing to do a repair before a big trip can be frustrating, notwithstanding the Bentley curveballs.⏱🤤[/QUOTE]
