Boot shutting issue

Hello all -

I've attached a short video of the behaviour of the boot on my Spur. It seems to close fine, but then the right side seems like it keeps going and "shuts" again. Any ideas?

Hello @notwise ,
Well that is not good, nor normal in any way...

What year is the Spur, looks like it could be a worn-out hinge on the right side, or the lifting motor is out of sync for it's stops, could need a adaption.

Have you tried with both hands to hold that part of the trunk lid down as to not allow it to rise up like that, therefore forcing the lift motor to stop and learn the stop position, as the video looks as the motor is not stopping, therefore going to to far and actually lifting the back of the lid on the pivot of the hinge.

Johnny

It's a 2006. I like the adaption idea. I have the VCDS software (used it to learn that my parking brake controller was bad). I'll see how to do the routine.

very common issue when the battery is low... the motor is on the right side the aluminum hinge will crack then break. I have replaced two of them on both of my 06 spurs. (hinges are different from Gt) in 2014 they put motors on both sides on the spur

That’s very interesting to know, thank you. I do keep it on a battery tender though.
