Engine lifting points

Afternoon all.
I have a great beam and chain hoist so wondering if there is any where on my 08 W12 engine I could fasten lifting straps to and support the engine from above and support the transmittion from below. Even if this require removing the ancillary bits on top . ie air filter inlet manifold etc.??
Frank.

Hello @Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,
Here are pictures of the lifting points on the W12, now, just to note, of the six or so W12 engines I have had ranging from 2005 to 2014, and the last one being the 2011 Supersports engine, only two came with both lifting point brackets installed, all others had one or the other, meaning, either right rear bracket, or left front bracket installed, so lucky I had one of each to use, and yes, the intake manifold must be removed, and I take it, you are only looking to support the engine in place while you drop the whole subframe for some reason, as the engine will not come out the top 😀.

Thanks Johnny,
yes, its to support the engine so as to remove sub frame etc and lower engine onto a trolly for removal.
I don't have the space for a car hoist and use a chain hoist on a beam to remove my rally car engines etc.
Do you know where I can get my hands on a pair of lifting plates, either to purchase or use a make my own. I suppose there not just straight forward flat plates with holes in them?

@Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,
Did you check to see if you have either one of the two on your engine now, I have not come across an engine with none yet, and you are correct, it is not just a plate with some holes, they are actually bent to an angle, and besides the mounting bolt hole to the head, there is also a nub/dowel on the plate that sits in the receiver hole in the head for added strength, and to keep it from rotating on the mounting bolt.

I am sure that I have extra, and would send you them if you can wait for shipping from NJ, USA.

The only issue may be that I only have all of one style, such as the rear.

EDIT:
I removed my improper information I posted a few moments ago, the brackets are not interchangeable from left to right, and I just went outside to look at the one parts engine, and the other good engine and trans package I have, they both have the rear right side brackets on each, but I can also see on the parts engine where I removed the left front bracket by the shiny surface left behind, then I popped the bonnet on my GT and I can see that I removed the left front bracket after installing the engine, and now I remember why,, the bracket came from the 2006 parts engine, yet it wouldn't mount properly as far as clearance of the valve cover and a pipe on the 2011 Supersports engine, so I put it in the vise and straightened it to fit, it all worked fine, BUT, when going to install the intake manifold, the bracket was hitting the throttle body iirc, so I removed that bracket, so I have it somewhere, I will drive over and look tomorrow.

Johnny

Pictures of the right rear pieces I have on the engines.

Hello @Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,
The right rear is part # 07D 103 392 R / 07D103392R, and is shown on Scuderia at about $12.

The left front is part # 07D 103 392 C / 07D103392C, but I can not find it online anywhere, although I have one in my possession, it has a date code of 08/09.

Here are some pictures, I will take better pictures and measurements if you want me to, or I will send you mine.
