Continental GT Massage Function

Just joined the forum after purchasing 2008 GT Speed. Mine doesnt have the massage seats and I was wondering if I can simply replace the seat control switch with one that has the massage button? I assume the massage is done by moving the lumbar motors that I already have for the manual control? I would also assume that the control module has the necessary electronics in it ( I can't imagine they make 2 versions of this).

Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks!

Hello @DesertspeedGT ,
That is an interesting question, if everything is the same inside the seat, such as the 3 plastic air bladders, then one would think it would be adding the switch, and programming/coding of the seat control module, each seat has a separate module, can you feel the bladders filling up in 3 stages ?

See my rebuild thread for a look at the bladders at post #57.

Hello @molphar ,
I think ventilated/cooled seats is out of the question for your 04, as our early models only had heated seats, which is a electric heating pad setup, no fans, or perforated seats.

Hello, as far as i know vent seats in cont gr were only after 2012. but lower part is as spur one, so teoretical fans can be transplanted. upper purt of seat is a bigger problem. And installing seats from 2012+ is a bit harder becouse of belt. it can be solved, but a lot of leatherworking is needed.

Phaetons have cooled seats. I wonder if you could transplant one.

Ive got both. thay are no that nice looking as bentley, BUT lower part is similar. so ill try to disassamble them, and see if it is possible to replant frame with fans to bentley, and wire it as it should be wired. Trouble is ive got troubles with my health and i can't do it alone

Phaeton seat is kinda wide. It should fit in a Spur of course but thinking it may be too wide for a Continental....

Hi Johnny

Thanks for the link. I will join everyone else in congratulating you on an amazing transformation! I can't test the lumbar bladders yet as the car is having a few items serviced before I take delivery, but I assume the same bladders are used for the manual lumber control that I have? Also, you mentioned programming/coding the seat control module, do you think that is necessary? If so, how easy is that?

Thanks again for your help!

Hello @DesertspeedGT ,
Thank you for your compliment, and welcome to our forum !

As far as programming the seat control modules, you will need Ross-Tech VCDS to change the code, see pictures below.
