VAS5054a head unit
VAS5054a head unit
Hi all.
I have vas5054a on a windows xp lap top. Ive had it for years now. However windows xp is no longer supported. I have bought a new lap top to replace the old one. My question is, where can I buy the latest software to work with the vas5045a obd interface. I have tried to copy the software across to the new hard drive but as expected no luck. Can I run ODIS software with the vas obd interface?

Now thats what I call a really good reply.
Thank you for taking the time an effort.
I am going to take this reply to my local P C repair shop and ask him to do the work you suggested. It is probably a bit tech for me.
Having the original hard drive as a back up is a brilliant idea.
If I wanted to load the latest odis where would I get a good working version
My new laptop is running Windows 11. Im still getting used to it so not sure if its better than windows 10.
Thanks again . I will post back when I get your idea implemented.

I did a similar thing at work using software called hyper v which was bundled with my pc.
That might be worth a look. It was basically - create an image of the drive. Open hyper v & load up that image. It was very straightforward. There was a bit of tinkering to get the virtual world connected to ports but entirely doable.
It's a great idea!

I finally choose foxwell NT530 from https://www.foxwelldiag.com/nt530 for less than $200 usd and it works great. It just supports every thing DIYer will need. Really good unit that comes with lifetime upgrade.
