06 Bentley that has factory soft close. The drivers door had been damaged and replaced without a soft close door (not by me). I bought all of the correct parts to bring it back to soft close. Inside door panel, soft close motor, soft close door latch, and a new wiring harness.
The soft close part doesnt work. I know each of the individual parts does work because i would move them one by one over to the passenger door and it would work.
I'm not getting any errors, I don't see anything on the VCDS report.
Almost feels like maybe it needs some kind of reset or calibration? No idea where to go from here,
Any help always appreciated!

@Copperline ,
I understand that you have tried each component on the passenger side door, but, I dont think you can mount and test the left side door latch on the right side, unless, you mean you just plugged it in hanging there to test, please be sure that the latch mechanism is infact a soft close.
@Copperline ,
Ok, so I take it that you replaced the complete wiring harness through the door jam down to the kick panel, if so, the only thing I can think of is the window lift / door control module, what is the date code on the module you have installed ?
I did replace the wiring harness through the door to the kick panel yes.
I currently have to door sealed up. Is there a VCDS Address for the door modules? Do you know what number that might be? When I do an auto scan I'm not getting anything that shows any kind of door modules.
Guys,
I need to piggyback on this issue as my driver door soft close quit working just this week. Passenger side still works. Can I do any troubleshooting without a VCDS? Boss cut my allowance and can't afford one right now. Any advice would be most appreciated.
I finally got around to running 46 - Central Convenience on VCDS. No faults. Nothing at all showed up. The coding was also something elementary like 000040 (I cant remember exactly). I ran through the output tests and I didn't see anything for soft close either.

Hello @Copperline ,
What was the outcome of this ?

Hello @EJag66 ,
I know this is a very late response, just wondering if you had any updates on your issue.
The fault of the soft close failure seems to always be the micro switches with the Audi A8L, sometimes it is the cable or motor, but mostly the micro switches, especially if you can hear the soft close motor running sometimes, but the door latch is not catching and closing.
I have the issue on my A8L W12, and sometimes it works and other times not, sometimes when it doesn't work, I can hear the motor run, and if I catch it in time and give a little push on the door, it will catch and pull in, but that's like a 1 in 15 it works, so I just live with for now, I guess I should fix it soon...
See the AW link below for the A8L door latch micro switches.
I honestly gave up. The door auto closing is one of those things that I'm just really not going to worry about. I did change out all the guts and verified that the motor worked using the passenger side controls. Still nothing. The motor does nothing when opening or closing the door.
I still have to re-do my headliner and paint the edges of the windows where it is delaminating. I figure thats a decent solution.

@Copperline ,
Thank you for the update.
For clarification, I understand that you swapped out everything on your drivers door to make it soft close, that is everything but the window lift/door cotrol module, correct, then you took all the same hardware minus the control module from the drivers side and tested on the passenger side using the passenger side's original control module, and everything worked, if so, that only leaves the window lift/door control module as the missing link, as the 2004-05 did not have soft close, the second hand module in your replacement non soft close door is most likely a 2004-05.. as is the door itself.
If you ever have either door panel off again, it would be interesting to see the different HW and SW numbers between the two.
