NigelM is infamous around these parts
Bentley/Cteck battery conditioner.

Just recently my battery conditioner will not pass the 2nd fast, today seems stuck on the 1st fase and occasionally it switches to the red light.
I see in the trouble shooting section of the instructions, that this can be caused by an excessive battery load.
The car a 2008 Flying Spur and is parked and locked.
Has anyone any idea what could be causing excessive battery drain/load.
All seems well when I drive the car, but today when I went to start it up, (the first time in over a week), it said low battery start car. The car started fine, just by pressing the start button, (without having to do the key start process, you know, put in key turn to left then right)
I only went for a fairly short trip and it all seemed fine.
But put back on the Bentley/Cteck battery conditioner about 8hrs ago and it still has not passed the first fase/light.
Any help or ideas, much appreciated.
Nigel from Estepona, Spain.

Hello @NigelM ,
How old are the batteries ?

Which mode are you using on the C-Tek, have you tried the reconditioning mode ?

As to the low battery warning and the turning the key to the left, my 05 GT with 06 main wiring harness and electronics does need the key turned to the left either, it does it automatically when my house battery is low, I have forgotten to hook the C-Tek a few times and ended up with a low battery warning after sitting for a week, when I power up the vehicle and get the low battery warning, I can hear the clunk of the parallel solenoid in the trunk engaging, I have never had to turn the key to the left, and what is odd is, when I do, I hear nothing engaging.

I have had the same issue with the C-Tek going to red on my A8L W12, the S600, and even the GT's house battery, the A8L sat for a year, a normal charge with the C-Tek would not work, it kept going red, so I put a 10 amp battery charger on it, and it came back to life, I then put it through 2 cycles of the reconditioning mode on the C-Tek and all is good, the GT did the same, hanging on the second phase of charge, that was on winter and normal modes, I put it on conditioning mode, and it made it all the to the end, and normal and winter modes charged properly after.

Hi Johnny,
The batteries are Varta silverline and are two years old.
I will try what you suggest and put on a normal charger for a while and see if that brings things back to normal.
My problem is, I should use this car more often!!
Many thanks for the advice, will let you know how I get on.
Nigel
