ODIS or VAS Pc

Morning all.
I now have my ODIS version 5.1.6 up an
d running.
Can anyone with knowledge of both the VasPc and Odis (off line) using 5054a interface, which is better.
Or more to the point why use ODIS when you have VAS Pc.
I have only just started with ODIS, having had VAS Pc for 10 years. It has to be said at first glance ODIS is much less user friendly and not as intuitive.
That begs the question. Why use ODS.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Frank.

Hi all , I was hoping some one would have some insight on this?
Hopefully some one can enlighten me.

I think almost everybody on here uses Ross-Tech? Mine came with the interface. I know you can do VAG stuff with the VasPC but it seems more trouble than it's worth when Ross-Tech is around.

Sorry I can't help. I doubt folks are ignoring you, you're just in a niche area. Try a bigger Audi forum?

Thanks, thats a good idea about trying an audi/vw forum. I will have a look about. I was just hoping some one had experience with vas/ odis on a Bentley.
Have a great new year 🙂

Hello @Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,
I have both ODIS "S" & "E" for Bentley, along with the Ross-Tech VCDS, I will now have to look and see if my Tough-Book CF-19 came with VAS-PC, I kind of remember seeing a desktop icon like that, VAS PC is the old official software, and ODIS is the new official service software as far as I know.

I agree that ODIS is way less user friendly, unlike the Ross-Tech, but I will have to check out the VAS-PC when I return after the 10th.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !
Johnny

Hi Johnny,
Happy new year to you too. I trust you kept safe in that atrociously bad weather you have all had!
I use my Vaspc 5954a all the time, but I had heard coding modules etc was easier with ODIS ( off line) .Im going to have a long play with it when the weather warms up a bit and see what extra functionality I have .
Keep warm and safe.
Frank.
