I've replaced a couple of these in Bentley and these MAFs are used in numerous models.

quick question, would you happen to have the actual color codes for pin1 to 5?

This is funny, I was just about to do another reply. In your circa (2006) VAG was having chronic problems with that MAF harness. The connector spring pins get weak and fail (intermittently). It would be the first place I would check, but from your pic, it looks like you have a wiring problem anyway. You want to replace that connector with one of the updated design 5 pin conncetors. Something like this but you need to check to see if the connector housing itself matches your broken one. And, if the Bank 2 side looks like that, bank 1 probably is not in the healthiest condition either.
Also, I typed the first post really fast and from memory. I should not have marked the 5th pin signal voltage, it's signal frequency. I've DLed the output signal on MAFS and they look like this:

I wouldn't do it the way you are. Don't try to id the color from the schematic on IETIS. Instead, clean up the harness around where the break is. Peel back more of the black tape (from your pic). Use some CONTACT CLEANER (or maybe rubbing alcohol) on the wires and it should reveal enough of the colors so you can match the stubs in the old connector with the ones in the harness. This will be a much safer way of getting the wiring correct.
The other challenge is - the new connector with pigtails will not match colors at all. You are going to need to do one wire at a time, starting from either end of the connector.
1. Plug the new connector into the MAF
2. Hold the broken old connector in your hand
3. ID the color of the old connector (for example, one end wire is black.)
4. Find the black wire in the harness (cleaned with alcohol or contact cleaner)
5. Connect the New Wire from the new connector connected MAF (NOTE: that in the connector on the Amazon site neither end wire is black) to the correct color in the harness.
BTW, none of these MAF connectors' wires will match the original colors. In fact, one other VAG MAF connector that will work, all 5 wires are black.
I highly recommend you use a crimp butt connector for the wire splices. I wouldn't try soldering/taping them. The butt connectors are clean and make a very solid connection.
If you're not familiar with them they look like this and crimp with a simple inexpensive crimp pliers. They can be bought several places - HD, Harbor Freight, Amazon, etc.
