I have a 2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur and it won't start. Message on the dash says "press brakes". I replaced the brake switch, but still get the message and the car won't start. Is there anything I have to reset? I've disconnected both batteries to try and reset the system, but the car still won't start. Can anyone tell me what may be my problem. The car spins over but won't start. Message still on the dash "press brakes"
As to your issue, for clarification, I take it that the engine cranks/turns over, as in the the starter motor is engaging and spinning the engine, it just isn't firing over, correct ?
Which is odd if you have the "Please Apply Brake" message appearing, are you saying that the message never goes away when pressing the brake pedal, have you checked that the brake lights are working properly ?

Do you have Ross-Tech VCDS for a scan ?

No, I don't have a scanner. The brake lights work. While the engine is spinning over the message will go away, but won't start. With the old brake switch<i did get it to start about 3 times by playing with the ignition switch turning it off and on.
@SOWNREALTY ,
This post has been edited, please re-read in its entirety.
Being that you have a 2006 FS, have you tried you using the push button start, with or without the key in the ignition switch, is it the same outcome either way ?
Being that you say that you got it to start 3 times with the old brake light switch, did you just obtain the vehicle, if not, and you have had the vehicle for some time, what if anything led up to the problem ?
Edit: 1
Turning the ignition switch on and off a few times is allowing the fuel pump to prime the system more, you may have a failing main fuel pump, or relay, but I would check all fuses and relays as mentioned below, OR, you may have a failed or failing crankshaft position sensor, it is mounted on the bottom of the transmission as pictured below.
Edit: 2
May I ask if you by chance purchased the same brake light switch as pictured below, I purchased this BLS and it gave me all kinds of faults, as the brake light switch has two circuits, but the contact point between the two circuits was just a hair off, or had a slight amount of play, I chased through changing steering angle sensor, clock spring, steering column control module, only to find it was the brand new oem brake light switch was faulty...
Edit: 3
There are other fuses to check also, for coils (spark), injectors, ecu's etc, I will attach the service pdf for all fuse locations.
End Edits.
Have you checked all fuses and relays in the trunk, especially for the fuel pumps, can you hear the fuel pumps prime when you unlock and open the drivers door ?
Fuel pump relay 1 fuse #33
Fuel pump module right side #34
Fuel pump module left side #35
Fuel pump relays (2) in space #54
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
Crankshaft Position Sensor, and Fault Code.
