Dirrtybiker00 on these forums gave me a guy’s email that had 19 inch and . Not sure if this guy is in on it or if it’s his scammer email that was given to me, but I paid for 19 inch rims and tires through Venmo and this person leosheddar@gmail.com stopped replying back to me and obviously never shipped rims and tires and has my money. First time in history I’ve been scammed. I didn’t get the guy’s ID or anything just trusted them. I will never trust anybody ever again.

 

A good idea. I paid for two Honda engines and shipping directly to a seller in Thailand a few years ago. Never heard from the seller again. Make sure you NEVER make payments that can't be disputed or cancelled when shopping online, even sources that appear to be trusted necessarily aren't. I'm currently selling one car internationally and some suspicious inquiries really take the cake. When I've requested proof of funds from their bank and told them that it's a very easy procedure, they've vanished.

 

That email addy does not show up as a member of sixspeed. However, the member who provided that email is being investigated. Whenever purchasing high dollar items on the internet usual precautions apply. So very sorry you were scammed on sixspeed. Please do not respond to unsolicited private messages as they are indeed private and a scammer can operate without our scrutiny.

he then sent me the email of the guy, not a member at 6speedonline

That guy sent me photos of what looked to be good 19 inch Bentley wheels and tires and I purchased them like an idiot

 

Don’t beat yourself up…anyone can get scammed. I would ask all members to be very suspicious of any unsolicited email or private message you might receive. If you are unsure please contact Johnny or myself and we will be happy to investigate.

 

Police can’t do a damn thing of course with an email right? Damn that’s pretty easy to scam people I never thought of doing it. Too bad people are such thieves.

 

but you paid thru wire? you have account number? if you paid by paypal i dont know but somehow phisically the theft must get the money. so police has the possibility to identify the scammer. problem is that police do not care about such cases.

 

If the guy is in the US the police may be able to help or point you to someone who can. If interstate, contact the FBI.

What do you have to say about this situation, being that you are the one that gave the scammer's email address.
A Google search of the email address "leosheddar@gmail.com" comes up with two other scam attempts, it is always someone saying this guy has what you need, and gives the same email address.

So far Dirrtybiker00 has not responded to my private message or the fact he can no longer post so he is looking equally guilty so far.

 

dont you see this is the model of their behaviour - they are reaching you to propose someones stuff... this makes you less cautious...

 

I paid through Venmo let’s see what they can do. They know the situation and it was taken out of my Wells Fargo. Let’s see if Wells Fargo can do anything, but both of them say they will not be able to get my money back.

 

Venmo will do nothing. The platform is purposely designed with no protection policies. Venmo and the banks that own the platform have been WIDELY criticized for the lack of security and protections, which is one of the reasons I don't use it.
