2005 Bentley Continental, I have removed air suspension and would like to disable your suspension compressor and electronics. Removed facia fuse box fuse #60, which is air suspension fuse.

also removed fuse in the boot fuse box above battery, 40 amp air compressor fuse #6.

Compressor sound still heard from front left. I’m guessing that’s not the suspension air compressor. Does anyone know what that sound is? Sounds exactly like an air compressor for the suspension.

I believe that is the vacuum pump. I may be wrong but that needs to run for engine and brakes to work correctly.

car runs great but P2279 and needs engine out and vacuum lines on top of transmission replaced. So maybe that’s why vacuum pump is working really hard. Thank you

Yes that's the vacuum pump. I don't recall which fuse for it. The location of that fuse is under the stearing wheel drop panel [20 amp] as I recall. Anyway pull the fuse before you ruin the vacume pump. Also remove the left wheel shield and inspect if the top hose on the pump is disconnected. Otherwise like indicated new vacuum lines need fitting. Use metal brake lines and avoid the factory replacement plastic ones, which are rubbish.

Awesome!

I’ll do that this week sometime. And then is there any way to get the air suspension light off in the dash?

Hoses on vacuum pump looked good

I’m not going to pull the fuse. Wouldn’t I have poor braking without vacuum pump functioning?

Not really unless the vacuum leak is large. This isn't a solution...only to save the vacuum pump. Anyway do as you feel safe.

I pulled the fuse on mine years ago before fixing the vacuum lines. To be honest I didn't notice a difference. The engine provides vacuum. The pump is an auxiliary item used primarily when the turbos are active.
