Sorry not many people have touched up on the SMG reliability...

I think the M3 and M5 have high reving engines. Which to me, means when I have people in the car(M3) and want to drive reserved, I simply keep it under 4K rpm. When I want to drive, I scream that thing to 8K rpm. Its seriously low key and then all the sudden a screamer. Sounds like it would be great for you.

I am a BIG BMW fan, and especially a BIG ///M Class fan, but the win goes to the E55 AMG for this battle. E55 is just an intoxicating vehicle. I would take it over the current E63. I would also take the E55 over the M5. Supercharged V8. Can't beat that! BAD thing about the E55, it ONLY comes in Automatic!!!
