My 2008 M5 PLATINUM TOUCHED! ;)
i'm shooting for RIDES magazine next, so maybe early next month or when I can break away....
until then, since my boy Dan is so impatient. lol
here's pics of my BBK that I took with my iphone, thats the sunlight blastin... there's no flash on the iphone

when you see the professional shots or see it in person, you'll understand the look I went for.
the rims are actually not that dark. the matte face and the semi gloss barrels/lips give it a great contrast. in person, it's broke necks.
until then. those should do

all good bro...
but this is the problem, I haven't seen another M5 on the street that could see me..... the driver is a big part of it. but my car is a beast. I HATE CARS WITH STOCK WHEELS. I HATE NOT PUSHING THE LIMIT PERIOD.
with that said. I raced my cousins Porsche's. ran up against my gallardo and it's right there with all of them. I don't go into the twisties and drive like a *****. If I can't drive the car and have it feel better performance wise then the next mans M5, then I don't want my car. so trust me, on the way to bimmerfest, there were tons of M3's, stock M5's with stock wheels, or M5's with exhausts, etc. that were getting handled and smoked by me and my crew from PM.
anyways.....
here's 1 pic of the rear. I was too lazy to pull the car out to get a proper pic, but I'll show you guys the car in a full professional shot soon.

btw, there's 22"s on my lambo now.
and for the record, I've dusted a few r8's that have ran up on me on the freeway. I know they're not that fast, but still gave them the business.
goto motorcycle forums... I'm the idiot hooligan doin 150mph on venice blvd.

Second, you made a few comments that were pretty interesting. Are we to believe that you could "beat" any other e60 m5 you have seen, because of your driving ability? Not trying to be a jerk, but that's a pretty bold claim. As for "pushing the limit," I'm not exactly sure what you mean - there are plenty of ways to push the limit, and most of them are pretty bad ideas. Anyone who turbos cars knows that you could have 1000+ Supra owners who haven't reinforced their drivetrain properly - that's certainly "pushing the limit" until bits of their car are spewed across the street, and I'm sure most of us don't subscribe to that philosophy.
The fact is, you could probably get better handling performance from your cars, both M5 and gallardo, with smaller size tires. That's all I'm saying. You're into shoes, right? Imagine I had a pair of the original, non retro Jordan IVs. Now, imagine I loved the shiny, shiny look of the soles of Artioli Wingtips, so I ripped them off and replaced the sole of the original Jordan IV with them, and I didn't have this done by professionals, but did it myself even though I have no shoemaking experience. Now, you would probably call me a s#it-eating moron for having no taste, and also ruining the look, originality, and collectability of one of the shoes most prized by collectors. More importantly, you would scratch your head at how I had ruined the performance of the shoe, as I flip-flopped up and down the court like Dorothy Hamill on ice. That's pretty much the same situation here. Even if you "dusted" an R8 (in a straight line) or no other M5 "could see you" the fact remains that you have spent money on wheels that detract from the performance potential of your car.
Lastly, I don't think you want to advertise, at least on this forum, all the street racing you may or may not have done, as it is not looked upon kindly here. If "driving into the twisties like a *****" entails driving safely so that you or other drivers are safe, please drive like a *****. You don't have anything to prove on public roads, take your aggression out on the race track. There is no reason to be going 150 miles per hour in trafficked areas. I'd hate to see you written up in a story like the 5 high school kids who were killed my wrecklessly driving an M5, or even worse, the two jackasses from Gumball 3000 who killed an innocent german couple while driving their 997 turbo. Please try to be safe and responsible on public roads, if not for your sake, for others.
i'm into shoes.... yes, but that was a horrible comparison.
lets say you tie one of Kimbo's hands behind his back, he'll still beat your *** on the street. It doesn't have to be in a ring or on the track. ya dig?
I know my limits, I'm 35 and have done a lot of dumb **** in my life. I understand safety. So driving like a maniac isn't me. I drive very very fast and controlled but sometimes we drive in situations we can't control, I'm a lot more cautious with eyes wide open.
With that said, in a straight line, my SRT8 charger is on 24"s and has smoked bentley GT's, my M5 and every porsche carrera (not TT or GT) stop light to stop light.... when it comes to turns, sway bars, strut bars, etc suspension accessories def. help, but if you got zero skills, it just gives you false confidence.
I'm fully coherent with my skills, my cars capacity and abilities and with that, I have never ever been in an accident in any car that was my fault. On my bike, I've lost 9 close friends, not 1 single time has it been their fault. So as crazy as I've been, I was lucky.
I live by a different philosophy. I don't street race per say and line up or meet up at a spot, if I see a car who pulls out on me and is 1000% obviously being a dick and I'm in the mood, I'll play ******** back and have fun with it. I don't live by the philosophy of take it to the track or let's fight in the ring, to me, thats fagget ****. and I could give 2 ****s what people think about me on the internet. i'm just showing my car and talking ****. If you can win, you can win anywhere. Why buy a car that goes 191 mph and drive it fast on the track only? Tell me you drive your rari the speed limit? or only 10mph over the limit and carpool as often as possible.
as for the gallardo, I took the 22"s off because it was messing with the balance and differential cuz of the all wheel drive and personally I hate that car compared to the 360 rari I used to have. as for the M5, not an issue at all. a loss in hp, but still a beast, with the new Evosport 3.91 (rear end) gearing, that cured a lot. and when I dusted the r8's, it was never in a straight line. only cars that have just outright killed me in the twists were Lotus Elises and t-rex's. other then that, I've held my own. I understand, there is a performance loss, I agree, but I love the look of the big wheels, so I make up for it in other areas so that I don't have to sacrifice the look I want.
PLTMLIFSTYLE,
I went with the JBT's because of the price and the way they felt. I went hard on the brembos and I have them on my other cars, but they just dissapoint me. it was between the AP racing and these JBT's and my boy had just put the JBT's on and they stop with excellence.

I can understand both parties. I like flash. I like hip-hop, but I also like classical music and subtle aggressiveness.
What I see here honestly are the following things:
-22s are way too big on the M5, it's out of proportion
-Ideal size are 20s considering proportions and weight and practicality
-Calling people who drive in the curves "*****es" is kinda weird to say
-Bragging about bombing down Venice at 150mph is pretty childish
With all that said, I know Ben's game is flashy. He's in the business of making huge, flashy chains to a certain clientele who is into the flash and dash lifestyle. So I'm not gonna judge him if I ever met him and say his car looks like a cartoon. It does, but I can respect what he feels is good, though for me, it's way too off the wall.
He came on this forum to share pics of his ride and it's good to have diversity. So in the name of diversity, I ain't gonna sling arrows at the guy.
Ben, I don't like stock wheels either. Siq and tired of dudes posting up pics of pretty much bone stock boring fuqin rides expecting some sort of recognition of a job well done. Fuq them. I dislike it as much as you. If I had an M5, I'd slam it on a set of 20" HRE 540Rs in silver and add the ACS decklid spoiler and call it a day. That is my style and I get my chain from Chris Aire.
Not that you asked in any way shape or form, but I'm just trying to look out for a brother, mang.

chris aire has been taken out pretty much completely by Jason of BH.
you bought your chain from chris aire in the last 2 years?
and the saudi prince may like some flashy stuff, but it's nowhere near the kinds of custom jewelry I make for my hip hop clients....remember, I cater to a very wide audience. you see the hip hop big icee pendants because thats what it is, big and shiny, all over the place. but I made a simple big ring for the prince. you think Tom Cruise gets big flashy Ice from me or Lang Lang? or even Paris? (just some of my many clients who aren't hip hop cultured) from the grammys/oscars to gangsters and rappers. I supply them all with different jewelry. everyone def. has different tastes.
and I'd go with 20"s if I could drop the front 5" and the rear 6" VIP style
and btw, all my cars in the past have had some sort of chrome on them.... I'm over it. too predictable.
but at the same time.... my next car will NOT HAVE RIMS. lol. I mean, if it can, then okay, but I mean like If I get a 05 or 06 f430, then i'm goin replacement stock size or if I go with a 997TT then i'm just gonna powder coat the wheels. but because the 22"s fit fine on this M, I had to do it. if it was my only car, I'd still do it, but I see how some or many would frown upon it.
oh and RPM,
sorry for not answering the first couple ?'s.
bimmerfest was awesome all the way. sorry for all those who got cited and pulled over.
as for the camera, it was a Canon rebel. pics were taken by a guy named NarPhoto.
and with the r8, it was never in the lambo, it was always in the M

I'd have to agree that it probably looks better in person. The 5 isn't a particularly attractive car to begin with and it looks best in dark colors or white. Along with alot of others I wouldn't have gone so large in rims but it's not our car and you seem to be very pleased with what you've made, which is all that really matters. I'm glad to see you dig the SRT-8 b/c I've had my share of nice rides and really like mine alot. I consider it one of the few pleasant surprises I've experienced in the car world and not a dissapointment like alot of others I've driven.

living in california we can go big and low without having to worry about the elements. seems alot of the negative comments are from states that have crappy weather. yep its true we have sunshine all year long. you can surf and snowboard on the same day. i love california
