I was at Lauderdale BMW service center the other day, and I came across this. It's a BMW M3 with a hole in the hood. At first I thought it was a piston that flew through the hood, but I was told that it was a fan blade. I never new that a fan blade could do this. I hope you guys enjoy the pics, I took them with my camera phone.








It's a pretty cool color too.

I have never heard of that on an E46 before but the E39's have a lot of issue with the fan clutch and the blades ripping off. There are a lot of pics online of hood damage from fans on the E39. I am keeping a close eye on mine so this doesn't happen.

I've seen hoods dented by broken fan blades, but never straight through

Estoril is looking good.
