M5 is the most fun
E63 can be an awesome cruise mobile with tons of power
S8 is just a somewhat fast heavy sedan

1 - M5
2 - E63
3 - not the S8, there are better choices... even the S6 is blahh, good looking car but not risky enough

The E63 is an awesome car and has great lease specials available $999. I wouldn't say he E63 does not feel connected to the road but it certainly is not in unison with it like the M5 does. The E63 carries a hard punch with nice class.
The M5 is the sportiest of the bunch but I don't think leasing it is justified, I've seen too many people leasing this baby for $1300, u are better off buying a low mileage loaded 06 or 07.

Regardless I would say the M5 is the best choice, you can relax with it and drive it to its limits. The E63 is a great car too but its for less fun than the M5 and more relaxing.

Thanks for the useful input. So it's either the M5 or E63, I'll need to find time to test drive both to have a better feel of both beasts.

the BMW M5 weighs 4012 LBS
the Mercedes E63 weighs 4035
the Audi S8 which is a bigger car than both e63 and M5, and FAR superior in terms of luxury weighs 4276 lbs... the car is made from aluminium

on paper, the e63 should be the fastest
however, in real life, the e63 has too much torque.. and it comes on too quickly

the M5 is wonderful to drive, and a lot of fun
the S8 is a different car... you dont feel the speed.. you dont feel the corners...
its a different car

I would go for the M5 if i was looking for a sportier luxury car

i would go for the s8 if i wanted power , but luxury and style above all else

i would go for the e63 if that was the only car in the world ...

i didnt realize you own an f430

i would get the audi s8 (your f430 and the s8 are built from the same material)
the S8 is perfect for you because you dont NEED the power and the slightly stiffer than the regular 5 series suspension

the S8 is where its at, and from 0 to 100, its NOT that far behind the m5
the AWD system on the car is the best there is .... and dont get me started on the Bang & Olufsen sound system
why not go and drive the m5 and s8 ?

Unfortunately the Audi S8 lease will be near double of the E63

Saw yesterday two black E63 AMG in the city who had a little race and the sound was fu+king amazing. But the S8 has gotten a facelift and so I would take the S8.

s8

I had an s8 and just sold it after about 7,000 miles. I really enjoyed the car but it was a little on the soft side especially compared ot the M5 or my previous rs6. I bought the s63 last week and so far think it is a step up over the s8 for sure.

I think the M5 is perfect because whenever your looking for a "spirited drive" just push M!!! The problem I would have with the e63 is that there is all that power on all the time, and I think that after a while it would get annoying.

That is one handsome looking car...very classy. You guys are really not making this easier for me. I need to find time to test drive all three cars.

i'd vote for S8 for quality ride, performance, etc.
considering it's going to be DD, i'd not vote for M5 considering you have F430 for weekend.
AWD+decent performance=go for it!

i dont like MB except cls (as far as 4doors are concerned)
even with consideration of cls63, i still vote for s8.
good luck!

S600 or an AMG S-class if you can

A8 W12 < S8

I would want a cruiser after having an F430.

Although a white M5 with exhaust would be amazing. It does several things well, but nothing perfect like the Merc or Audi. It is more or less a compromise car if you can only have one and it's a DD. Keep us posted!
