Need more power from an M6

My friend has a new M6, and i was over at his house last night and we spent a good amount of time looking online for M6 parts, only to come up with very few things. No real power adders with the exception of that $40k 5.7L upgrade which we thought was a bit much. But so far he is thinking the limited slip from Dinan, maybe headers, racing cats, butterfly throttle possibly.
Just wondering what you guys out there have done, the is an 08 m6 SMG and he already did the Dinan Mufflers and Stage 1 ECU

All help is appreciated

There's plenty of power to be had...headers and catback, carbon filter removal, secondary cat deletes, Dinan's throttle bodies, and some kind of ecu modification That should just about guarantee your status as king of the highway.

Go to m5board.com and look around......ESS is almost ready to release a supercharger system for the M5 and I assume it will work on the M6 or be released soon after......less than half the stroker motor and almost 650hp......

Headers gave me 30rwhp, I would also recommend RPI scoops and BMC filters. Dont waste your time with the throttle bodies. The pulleys are a good bang for your buck too.

G-Power has a twin-supercharger system done for the M5, with well over 700 crank HP... I don't know about price though...
Or you can always do bolt-ons (filters, pulleys, full exhaust, tune, etc) and add a nitrous setup.

Yeah the price of that kit was like 150k I think?

Damn! That much? wow... you could get another M car for that money.
I guess bolt-ons and nitrous are the better way to go. I think GT3Ranger has a pretty hardcore M5 tuned by ASR if I'm not mistaken... you can always ask him how to get more power out of the V10 without going stroker.

Yes he does.......ASR packs a big punch....but about $7000 installed and you'll only get 100-120 seconds out of a 20lb bottle..and figure $90 to refill.....I'm torn between this and the supercharger....I would go SC hands down except for the obvious warranty issues....which you won't have with the N2o

CarChrisM5, this ranger here. I can offer some pointers, opinions and advice.
First I make no qualms about my dislike of Dinan. They can drop dead.
DO NOT waste your money on the throttle bodies from Dinan. They have shown ZERO rwhp gain with everyone who has them.
Personally not a single mod product from Dinan for the E60 M5 (except the stroker) has made any hp.

Now I recommend headers (all are good), power pulley, software that complements the mods (Active, Evosport, ESS).
Forget the Schrick cams (big bucks & little gain).
ASR nitrous system is great (M5 dyno'ed 581 rwhp)
M5 on motor dyno'ed 460 rwhp.
According to dragtimes, my M5 has 2nd fastest 1/4 mile time in US.
ASR will release a TT system later this year (600 rwhp)

If you wish to discuss further feel free to PM me.

Cheers, GT3Ranger
