pickin my M5 tomorrow, little issue help
After searching over 2 weeks, finally decided to trade my car in and join the M family, I've had porsche over the past 3 years, had z4 before but nothing close to what I'm about to drive, hopefully I made the right decision over a 07 non s carrera which I was also interested in.
06 Silverstone / black interios, full leather, multi-function seats, heated seats, park distance control, comfort access etc....
Little issue: I test drove the car today everything is fine except that I noticed the steering wheel was leaning towards left while the car is straight line, is that sign of abuse or may its tire issue? The cars is in very good condition, paint free, the sales man said he will fix it, do you guys think it will be a problem? Should I let them take a look at or take the dealership since its under warranty anyway.

If the steering is to the left, it is probably an alignment issue. Get everything thoroughly checked before the purchase. E60 M5s have horrible resale values as it is. Any problems will just make it worse.
I have an m5. I would first test the tire pressure. even the slightest skew of pressure causes a pull. As does a slight camber in the road. If its none of these - then check the alignment of course.
I am constantly getting this - normally due to about 5Ibs less in one tire (or both) on one side - than the other.
I love the m5 personally. great all round sports sedan. my major gripes are the following:
1. small fuel tank. means your constantly filling up. sometimes I am lucky to get 175 miles out of a full tank.
2. oil consumption - I get 700 miles - best - out of a quart and not everyone stocks the oil it needs - so I have to keep about 6 quarts constantly on tap.
3. I get 9mpg on a good day.
4. idrive - slow. never liked the idrive really on bmw's.
Othe than these more minor gripes. awesome car. Enjoy.

I do agree on checking the tire pressures first and then the alignment. My guess is alignment though.

9mpg, 175 miles out of one tank, man are you racing that thing light to light.
that sound pretty extreme. sometimes road crown might make you think your steering wheel is off. checking tire pressure would be the easiest test. make sure your happy with it driving off. if your not, that steering issue is always gonna bug you.

Man! 9mpg is pretty low. Seriously are you shifting at redline all the time?
I drive mine on P500S and MDM with S5 or S6. I get 12.2 mpg consistently.
I have 6000 miles on it and never had to add oil. Its odd how some people have to constantly top off oil and some do not.
Interestingly I had to have the dealer add oil on my wife's 4.8L X5 recently.

I think it depends how you drive it - if you drive above 4K RPM's most of the time, I'm sure you will eat oil and get 9MPG. You'll also have more fun, though. I likely baby mine too much.
just drove from Houston to Dallas. I reset my mpg gauge to see what kind of hwy mileage I would get. With the occasional highway passes, I still managed 18.5 mpg!!
I didn't think of was possible to get something that high. I admit I wasn't driving it hard since I had my toddlers in the back.

Highway cruising at speed I had about 16-17mpg but day to day driving I had about 8mpg. I did drive it pretty hard, but then again with SMG its hard not to
skyytek summarized all of the major gripes, other than that the car is a joy. I drove mine cross-country 8400 miles in three weeks with no issues and just an oil change in Vegas.
Oh it did overheat one time, but that was during a day of 10 hours of driving, through 100+ degree heat, and driving through a valley where it was probably 115.
