M3
Personally I wouldn't write it off that easily.
People have definitely had their problems with RMS, no doubt about it. But those same people will still tell you that RMS makes amazing hardware for BMW's. Their tuning has been blamed for blowing a few motors though.
There are other tuning options though...

Run!
I am shocked i haven't seen one definitive negative on this. First there is no way in 4500 miles that a seat could look like that. I had my first bmw with nappa leather for 123,000 miles and my seats had no wear like that whatsoever.
2nd) $37,000 for a car with BBK, Wheels, and Supercharger?!?!
Get real, that car's fair market value stock is $37,000.
Something incredibly sketchy about that car. No way I would bid.

Those seats look to be in very good condition, the mileage matches the seats -the e46 M3 uses nappa leather for the seats, while the leather is very soft, it holds up the test of time very well and is very durable
Regardless, the mileage matches the condition of the leather

Are you kidding me?

THere is definitely something fishy about this.... 38k is right at or below wholesale for a 4500 mile m3, let alone one with "$45K in mods" (yet the car looks like its on stock suspension). I would NEVER purchase this car without seeing it in person....I would start looking elsewhere for a s/c'd e46 m3. I would try to find one that has a stock motor with the blower kit. I havent heard of any being reliable once people start messing with the internals of an s54....Almost every single build that I have heard of (even minor builds) have had major issues and catastrophic failures that lead to even bigger money rebuilds.... Like I said, try to find a s/c'd m3 that has the rest of the motor untouched. Good luck with your search, you cant go wrong with the s/c'd m3 or the 335, although the e46 is a much better "driver's car" while the 335 is a better "daily"

I am just playing the devils advocate here.
Once you step up and daily drive an e46 m3, youll see what im talking about. Until then, I suggest you learn the term "ignorance is bliss". While the e46 m3 is an amazing car, as a daily driver it is not as good as some of the other options. It does everything well, but to get any power out of it, you really do need to be in the upper RPM ranges.
Obviously, you just like to argue... I'm done with you.
One of us cannot read properly... I might be mistaken, but I thought the OP was talking about a built s/c e46 m3, not a built turbo kit. Likewise, my comment was about built motors with s/c applications... Can you name one person that has a built s54 with s/c kit that hasnt had major issues?....The only one that comes close was nasseem who dropped his car for a major loss and has a history of major issues. I believe he had something ridiculous (like $100K) into his build with BHS (top of the line quality builder). Go ahead, test out the built motor. I'm jsut trying to share my knowledge of the s54 and prevent another member from losing a fortune.
Opinions are like...... well, you know the expression. A vast majority of the people on here act like they have first hand knowledge of certain cars that they have never owned or even driven. Furthermore, you missed my point completely... AGAIN. Or youre just trying to argue here. The fact that it has TT doesnt matter - the crucial aspect of the car is how much better it is for STREET driving because of the low-end tq. Do you really want to constantly rev the motor out to 8k just to get 270ft/lbs? I prefer my torque to be low for the street. Anyone with common sense will agree. The e46 is a great car and does everything very very well, but street driving isnt its strongest point.

Oh and your pathetic attempts at talking down to me because I am not a super baller money maker like you and I drive a lowly E36 are just bull****. "Once I step up to an E46".....yea ok, that would actually be a step down. You know nothing about my car. Dont act like you do.
And are you really serious saying that street driving isn't a strong point of the E46 M?? Are you out of your mind. Its completely mild mannered, a street car is exactly what it is.
Got yourself quite an ego there don't you? You're the man dude, you post on 6-speed. You're a baller.
because it fits your argument...name one "built s54" with a s/c app that has been problem free....My point (the thing that you dont seem to understand) is that given the extremely high rate of failure (damn near 100%) for built s54 s/c applications coupled with the fact that this guy is willing to unload his modded 05 m3 "with 4500 miles" for $37k is a sign that the OP should probably stay away.... keep arguing with me... its really helping out. Good day.
if you only knew...
it has nothing to do with money. You just seem to lack the knowledge of daily driving an e46 m3 for any length of time.
yes i do.... its a 99 m3 coupe with an AA C38 kit....EDIT: I just wanted to add that the power delivery characteristics of the s52 FOR THE STREET (this phrase is crucial to what I have been saying throughout this thread) are superior to that of the s54.
Again, speaking without any first hand knowledge and without properly reading my claims...
ok.. i guess youre into personal attacks... nice. If this is the route you want to take, you might as well go back to the BMW forum. Seriously, now I'm done. Any other conversation should be taken to PM.
