M6 or E92 M3?
that`s why I would recommend to get the BS
"just" 20k difference, but these 20k are really worth it.
A BS for 90k??WTF...that`s so seductive..
M6 all day EVERYDAY, Its nicer, has more jump in its step, Gets more attention, and is even sicker when modded... M6 is a Grown Mans car, M3 is a little kids toy IMO...not saying I dont like the M3, just saying the M6 is the better of the two...hope theres no cry babies on here that are going to start defending their M3s...I love both
ABSOLUTELY! i know guys with both the M3, and M6... but if you want to talk about exclusive, and potential on a track.. black series CLK... they are going like around 80K now... which is a steal for that type of car. You won't have any regrets with that choice.

M3 hands down! I owned the e46 M3 for several years and it was one of the best handling and most rigid chassis I've ever driven.
I drove the M6 and the new M3 (with DCT) as rental cars (each for 3 days) and the M6 felt heavy in curves, took several seconds for the car to be perfectly flat after sharp left-right-left-right curves. The e90 M3 has the handling and the chassis rigidity of the e46 by to the 10th. It's unbelievably sharp. It's the closest car I've driven to my Audi R8 in terms of overall driving experience.
That's my opinion. I'd suggest you test drive both each for 30 minutes and you'll see the difference but I know you'll go for the M6 since you own a Corvette; it's brutal.

M6, then add this Gpower kit.

Scott,
WARNING! I almost bought a BS in Dec of last year for $94k..it is one of my favorites. Then BMW had these incredible lease deals on the M6 so I could not resist. I'm extremely happy with the 6 although it was not my first choice. The car has grown on me so much I drive it everyday. This was supposed to be my "in between" car. Every time I tell myself that I'm leaving the M6 at home for my drive to work I walk out to the garage and there she is hmmm 335, GL or the beast...M6 has won everyday. My DD 335 now collects dust.
IMO The M6 is the perfect GT under $200k.

IMHO there is no comparison. Go with the M6 all the way. I have an AW E60 M5 and love it. I just paid off my 3 year loan and I do not ever see getting rid of it. Currently looking for an M6 for a mod project.
The M5/M6 are dynamic and very capable in performance yet comfortable.
A few pics of the M5, sorry about the other pics

Good luck and enjoy the search.

Your M5 is extremely nice. Thanks for the pics.
Ha ha, you guys have me thinking about a M5 now as well.
I just traded my 07 M5-smg for an 09 M3 w/dct. FWIW, I liked the more balanced handling feel for daily driving(smaller, lighter). The heavier M5 is faster top end but the 3 will stay with it to 120 while being more fun to drive at that speed range. Also, the dct tranny is significantly better than the smg in both sport and auto modes. I'd suggest driving both to see what suits you best. As my daily driver, it's a great compliment to my modded GT2.
Nelson,
Thanks for the very informative post. You guys are making this very difficult for me.
Scott get the M3, just because the M3 community needs you back Bro!
So far I love the E92 DCT, it has exceeded my expectations. It does like bolt ons as well, I added 30 WHP with just x-pipe HFC's, pulley and filter, software should add another 15, still need to get some 60-130 runs in. Knowing you, you'll go farther and want more power, the M6 doesn't have a FI option out there, in the coming months the M3 will, looks like they are making 550 WHP on 6- 7psi! 600 on 8-9psi, race fuel will add another 40 or so.
Either way, it will be great to have you back in an M Brotha.
Here's a few runs against two Audi B5 Stage 3 S4's, and two other modded E90 6mt M3's.

I wish I could see the vids, but I'm deployed and my military server blocks youtube.

I know I've said this before...but if I get an M-car, it'll stay stock. No, really.
I plan on getting a 997TT and modding the hell out of it evnetually, so no major mods to the M.The DCT option is very tempting as well. I keep hearing/reading rave reviews about it.
Anyway, thanks again. Not sure which way I'm leaning any more. I've driven an M6...I guess I need to drive an M3 (assuming the M5 feels similar, albeit slight heavier, than the M6).
But TT......that's a different story altogether.
Those are a couple of beautiful cars. No doubt. But I'm looking for something with more easily accessible dealer support. I have a great relationship with the Porsche, BMW and Mercedes dealers near my house.
