Hey guys,

I'm considering getting an M6 or M3 Coupe as an 'in-between' car (between my daily driver truck and my modded Z06).

At this point in time I'm leaning very heavily towards the M6 (faster, more exclusive, better looking IMO), but would like to hear some of your thoughts.

Other than being able to get one with DCT and having better MPG, what are some other reasons that anyone would choose an E92 M3 over an M6...assuming they're both under warranty? I really can't think of any, but I'm open to ideas.

Id go for the m3 because its a newer body style and the m6 is going to get a revamped. Also idk about "more exclusive". I live in NJ and i see more m6's than i do m3s. Ive only seen like 5 m3's compared to the thousands of m6s. Also ive liked the m3 styling way more than the m6.

Both cars are sick. Since you already have a track Z06, I don't see an advantage of getting an M3 over an M6. If you don't mind a v10 for the streets, then M6 all day.

Personally, I would rather get an E60 M5 over an M6, but that's just personal choice.

 

I would go with the M6....you will lost with a new M3 a lot of money, but drove both and decide than.

I don't want a 4-door...but the M5 is pretty awesome as well.

 

Well, that may be true in your part of NJ...but the fact is BMW produces far fewer M6's per year than they do M3s.

The M3 is a definitely a handsome car. Thanks for the input.

 

Good point...but either way, I'll buy used. I can't imagine buying anything brand-new these days.

so many of my socal and norcal buds have both 3's and 6's.
If your going to get one used, get the 6, its prob gonna be cheaper , thus savings used for gas.
And overall its a more exlusive car.
Although the 3 isn't too bad, its has the dct which i like. But dollar for dollar, i would say 6 all the way man.
Btw, hope the c6 z06 is coming along . Do youhave pics of it posted up somewhere ?

M5 my fellow M3F member! M5! If you don't need the back seats, don't use it. But it's always there if you need it.

I think the M3 will work well for you again. Maybe a "Red" one.

I rid my M5 for an 08 C4S. Check her out.

 

Because you already have the z06 for track use etc. I would go with the M6. It seems to me more of a luxury car when compared to the m3.
