Escort Passport 9500ci Install (Photos) - '06 ///M5

Got my M5 back from Benchmark Motoring in Bellevue, WA today.

The install took 2-days to complete. They took their time to do it the way I preferred; flush mounted heads in the front grill for maximum range and functionality. I'm very happy with outcome.

For maximum protection, I'll be supplementing this system with a LI Quad (or maybe the new Blinder M47) mounted vertically in the upper grill & rear in the next month or so.

1+ for the sweet, clean install. What was the price of the install?

Thanks,

Too much.

A custom install like this, including the 9500ci, custom fabricated parts, labor, etc. will run you $2500-$3000.

I've had two V1s, a 9500i and now the 9500ci. The 9500i and V1 are practically identical in terms of RADAR performance and sensitivity.

The V1 has the arrows, which is great and all, but I don't really need to know where the threat is coming from. I just need to 1) know it's real and 2) slow down to the posted speed limit.

This is where the 9500i shines because of it's built-in GPS feature. I pass by five K-based RADAR Speed Limit signs each way on my commute. The GPS marking allows you to lock out those specific signals so the next time you pass by the system is silent. I love having a system that is quiet until an unknown threat is detected. That beats the directional arrows any day, in my opinion.

The 9500ci takes it step further with the "integrated install". I no longer have to worry bout removing my windshield mounted detector every time I park downtown or in a not-so-secure place. This was the biggest draw for me. The kit also includes ZR4 laster shifters. They are "decent" performers, but not as good as top-of-the line Laser Interceptors or the new Blinder systems.

hmm...interesting points, to be honest i have been tempted to get a radar detector lately, usually a pretty cautious driver but in my area chp have really been nit picky...what is the cost difference between the v1 and a 9500ci if you don't mind me asking
