BMW X6///M -Short Take Road Test
"The quickest production SUV we've ever tested. Plus, it can dance." Car&Driver
"But the fact that the X6 M is faster around the Nürburgring Nordschleife than the last-generation M3 pretty much says all you need to know about its overall performance." Car&Driver
ENGINE TYPE: twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 32-valve V-8, aluminum block and heads, direct fuel injection
Displacement: 268 cu in, 4395cc
Power (SAE net): 555 bhp @ 6000 rpm
Torque (SAE net): 500 lb-ft @ 1500 rpm
TRANSMISSION: 6-speed automatic with manumatic shifting
DIMENSIONS:
Wheelbase: 115.5 in Length: 191.0 in Width: 78.5 in Height: 69.4 in Curb weight: 5254 lb
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 10.7 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 19.1 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 27.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 110 mph
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.92 g
Braking, 70–0 mph: 163 ft
QUOTE The X6 M also comes with a launch-control function that will handle the shifts as long as you keep the gas pedal planted to the floor. Hold your foot down for just 4.3 seconds and you'll see 60 miles per hour fly by—and that was achieved without launch control enabled. With launch control, we think a tick or two could easily be shaved off.
QUOTE For reference, the Cayenne Turbo S hits 60 in 4.4 seconds and 100 mph in 10.8. (Does that $35K price difference look even more substantial now?)

I love the Cayenne Turbo S and it is a real beast, but I do think it costs a bit much and this car would be a great alternative for $35k less.

The word Sin Rejoices
In other news, the word "Sin" is elated today as it now has a new partner in the phrase it was so commonly tired of being apart of. Now folks around the nation have a new alternative to express their feelings about something that is visually displeasing. The Phrase "Ugly as Sin" has been replaced by "Ugly as X6"
When interviewed, the word Sin had this to say, "I want to thanks my family, God, and the wonderful designers at BMW. They have now created something worse than the Pontiac Aztek which unfortunately was not popular enough to take my place. Cheers to you BMW, I'm going to Disneyland!"
