I bought DCT over 6mt as i daily drive mine. I figured it would be better in traffice etc... which is true... but it can get quite boring overtime. If you have another car that's manual, then you'll be fine... Otherwise, i'd go with 6SPD

The Panamera is the first car I've ever owned with a dual clutch transmission. To me, it improves the performance of what is supposed to be a modern high performance car (like the M3)

I might buy an older car with a manual, but for a newer car with these new engines, I would go with the DCT/PDK/DSG.

One more thing, does anyone know what the mark up is on a '10 m3? Ive heard 7% but that seems a little low to me. Whats invoice on these cars?

thanks in advance.
I bought an e92 M3 with DCT in September of 2011. I sold it in July 2012 because I wanted to make the switch to the 6MT. They closed our track in our area which affected my decision. At 8/10ths and above the DCT is nirvana. However, day-to-day I thought the 6MT gave me more satisfaction.

No question the DCT is faster and suites the car beautifully but I think the chances of owning a manual, 8400RPM, GT car are slowly getting worse so I made the switch. Figure I can always go back to DCT in the future.

i have had sticks for a very long time....until we bought a vw jetta 2.0t for our kids to use...what a great drivetrain! anyway, when it came time to sell my e39 m5, we bought a 2011 e92 m3 with dct....and i hope to never have a traditional manual again. the new technology is just too good to pass up imo. fast, perfect shifts every time, the ability to put it into auto mode in traffic or if you just don't want to bother, and yet when you want to use the paddles you have that capability at your fingertips.

so i would say go with the dct and don't look back!
