Radio works for about 2mins then goes silent and the nav screen never come on just flashes. my indy says need to replace nav unit in the rear of car. has anyone else had this kind of problem? if it is the nav where is best place to find a used/new one.

Thanks

RM5 is infamous around these parts
Check out m5board.com and also the classifieds in roundel, you have the cd based unit. You can replace it with the same or upgrade to a DVD based unit.

Try disconnecting the battery and let the car sit for half an hour.

If that doesn't solve it, check your BM53 for water damage.

There are two issues at hand.

The NAV screen is one thing that has nothing to do with audio.

The BM53 in the driver side compartment of the trunk is the radio system, and as I found out in my car, old taillight gasket can allow water to come in and short out the unit. It's a 600 dollar unit from the cheapest source.
