dont like it. looks looks horrid there is nothing mean looking about this thing , looks like a slightly beefed up 5 series . no fender flares , no agressive stance.

Looks like bmw once again gets beaten by the competition.

1 step back, 2 steps forward...........

Turbos on an M-car........meh........I'm sure the tuning potential will be huge though...

but I love that the M5 will go back to "no show, all go" that the e28, e34, e39 were...
remember when you had to look really hard to see if it was an M5 or just a regular 5er and most non-car people didn't even know the difference??
that's what the M5 was supposed to be about!!! a wolf in sheep's clothing, not a fender flared, m badges every 3", look at me....attention ***** of a car.......

Good job BMW!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself regarding the looks. I do wish, however, that the passion of utilizing a high strung N/A powerplant continued to live on. But such is life and we all continue to evolve.

Most non enthusiats can't tell the difference between an E60 545 and an M5. Its sad the E60 M5 is the last real M5, N/A with a high revving engine and manual transmission. They also got rid of the innovative hybrid chassis and now the 5 series is basically a barely lighter 7 series.

The question I want to know is how much will it weigh?

Sorry to be the critic, but those gills on the side look like they look on an escalade, cheap and plasticy. I also don't like the rims at all.

I agree totally. The car doesn't have to be overly sportily looking but there are some very disappointing looks about this car

I'm not overly worried that M division is drifting away from N/A engines. What bothers me is the fact that there may be no true manual (= 3 pedals) offered in the new M5. The E60 M's manual was a far cry and now there probably won't be one at all. Where are the good old days when you could buy new 740i EU-spec with 3 pedals!!!
