Long gone, long gone. The flappy paddle gearbox is eliminating the manuals slowly but surely.

Not feeling this at all. I thought they were headed in the right direction with the 1M, and I get that this is targeted towards a different demographic..but even us more "mature" types like a little more "show" than they're giving us with this. Maybe BMW is just trying to further solidify the "icon" status of the E39 M5!?

TMR is infamous around these parts
It looks good but the weight is a total downer. I still think the E39 is the best M5

Have they announced the weight yet? I wouldn't expect it to be light, but wondering how heavy it’s going to be.

I agree, I've said this numerous times... even though the E60 has more power, the E39 still has a rawness to it, and the grunty feel of the V8 that just makes it more fun to drive imo. The new 5 series though I did not care for, it feels and drives like a bloated car which its weight shows, steering feel was even numb... it just did not feel like a BMW in the sense the 5 series used to have a nice sporty feel to it. Feels like a normal luxo cruiser now
