Drag Vid:stock X5M v tuned X5M - Do NOT enter if think stock X5M traps over 110 in FL

Reaffirms the real world of what a stock X5M will run in South Florida.

Earlier thread:

Just trying to clear up some confusion from the thread above as to what a stock X5m traps in the quarter mile.

I try not to rely on friend of a friend's Vbox numbers to confirm that X5Ms trap 110 - 112. Or that a tuned X5M trapped 116 mph on a "non traction enhanced" regular road because someone sent a photograph of a VBox screen shot.

I prefer "Just the facts" - from a drag strip : )

Yep. Especially impressive considering it weighs over 5000 lbs and is a brick in the wind.

I had a stock 07 M5 with a 6 speed manual, and was never able to run 12.0s with it (12.35 @ 115 - best).

...or videos of friends of friends (or not) running at the dragstrip

I'm sure if you wait a couple more months, someone in S. Florida will run a 13 second pass in an X5M (running 87 octane) and you can post another thread up.

Where I live, the X5M runs 12.5'ish at > 110 - like it or not.

Why, are you planning a trip to Florida in the next couple of months in a borrowed X5M loaded with 87 octane fuel to show off your driving skills and lay down that 13 second run? Let me know when you do. I'll be happy to be there to laugh my ***** off at you.

For people with common sense, the video shows what a stock X5M runs in Florida vs a tuned X5M on the same night, at the same track. In cold weather in your part of the country, I wouldn't be surprised to see an X5M run as you said "12.5'ish" (ish wtf?) and trap 110 (ish?). But who cares anyway until you get some video.

By the way, I like it, or not.

I own an X5M and you don't, so I feel much more qualified than you to speak on the subject.

If you think I'm going to run right out to video my X5M running a 12.5 at 110mph, to prove to you what I already know, you're going to be waiting a long time.

You keep commenting on a car that you don't own and have probably never ridden in, and I'll keep enjoying the brilliance of your posts.

Hmm. I don't own an X5M and you do? You're more qualified?

Is that right?

Obviously, the commentary of a schmuck who has no idea.

Are you living on the sidelines of life and bench racing your car fantasies? In case you were wondering, an X5M on your Play Station doesn't count.

Are you enjoying that brillance?
I actually prefered your un-edited response above. Though immature, and was woefully off-target, at least it showed some energy.

Perhaps you were able to determine that I do in fact own an X5M, or maybe you decided that we are entitled to our respective opinions....

In any event, it might be best to agree to disagree on this one.*

Just as I planned.

Hide the real post in my edit, and have you predictably post it for me.

But I agree to disagree. In our humid, hot weather in Florida, we don't see the trap speeds that you do in your neck of the woods.

I assume you're just being a good friend and couldn't sit idle and watch. Well, ok.

Answer # 1. Yes, I do and quite a few other vehicles.

Glad to hear that you have ridden in HIRISC's X5M. Did he make you clean the bottom of your shoes before you touched the carpet?

Ok, I think I am done being a wise *** for the day.
