2003 M3 mods and drag racing tips

I have a 2003 M3 and am looking for tips on bolt on mods. Also been doing some eighth mile drag racing and wondering what size drag radials everyone is using? Currently on 19s but not ideal for drag racing. Any tips are greatly appreciated

bolt on mods on the s54 are but useless ,way to much money for so little in return.

E46 M3's are not ideal for drag racing. Autocross/highway fun absolutley, it is very difficult to get any traction from a standstill with that platform.

Hardly, you can bolt on 30-50HP w/these cars easily w/the right mods, and w/o breaking the bank ($2-$4k). Of course , if you're looking for 400+HP, then FI makes the most sense in terms of bang for the buck...though not inexpensive ($6-$10k to do it right) by any means. OP come over to M3F!

That being said, yep, these cars are definitely not ideally suited for strip work...but some occasional dragstrip runs shouldn't hurt anything. I have about 25 runs on mine, and w/a few frame/suspension tweaks & the right tires, these cars (even N/A) are easily capable of high 12's at a decent track and w/a decent driver.

My ZCP has gone 13.3 with a 1.9 60' and 3 bolt ons that do little for power. If you can launch right and shift well 12's are easy in the right conditions. I'm a full optioned car as well and weigh 3420 without myself. You don't need drag radials for the e46 m3. I got a 1.9 without adjusting tire pressure on the ZCP 19"s and ha look v12 evos. It's very possible to pretty much max the cars potential on a street tire. My next track outing I'm hoping for a 1.8 after some tire pressure adjustments and other slight upgrades I've done to the suspension.

You can find used S/C kits for pretty cheap decent return on power. What are your goals for the car? If you are hoping to go 11s N/A you are going to be dumping lots of cash and should just get a HPF kit/build and go low 10s for the same price.

Really ? 50 hp for 4 k? I'd love to hear these mods.

If you want to keep drag racing sell the m3 and buy a mustang or camaro. You are gonna break eventually and parts on those are much cheaper. IF you want to track or auto-x, keep the m3.

I thought 4.10s were the best bang for buck performance mod I did on my m3.

i find my e46 m3 to be fast enough to keep up with even exotics. and that's a convertible pig too.

i have no desire to mod it.
