my E36 M3

It doesn't compare to any of the 996TTs on here, but it'll suffice for now.

the fun stuff:
GC race with Koni DAs in front and SAs in the rear, 500/550/600/750 lb. springs, GC RCCAs
Jim C. cam kit
Euro Supersprint headers and catback, custom midpipe, and another catback with just resonators (reserved for track use - too loud on the street)
Turner anti-roll bars and spacers
17x9 CCWs
245/40/17 S0-2s (soon to be replaced with 255/40 MXs)
UUC evo2 ssk, clutch stop, and red tranny mounts
MA Shaw CF LTW wing
OEM LTW splitter
Kirk rollbar
Sparco Pro2k for the driver, EvoL for the passenger, and 6-pts for both
Momo mod 78 wheel
TC design QR hub
X-brace
RD strut brace
Porterfield R4S and R4 pads
Euro rotors
JTD underpanel
OMP 1010 pedals
and some more stuff I'm forgetting

Now I must convince my dad to get a 996TT or GT3 for himself

I agree with you. The previous owner put the spoiler, along with most of the other modifications, on the car. It is a track car, yes, but I haven't been able to get out there since its purchase in August. School is keeping me busy (which is what it should be doing). Hopefully, I'll be able to go within the next month or two.

It's funny, I saw this car for the first time on a BMW message board that I frequent on, maybe a year or two back, and I thought to myself, "Man, the owner of this car knows what he is doing. That is exactly what I plan to do my future E36 M3." In June of this year, I finally bought a bone stock '98 M3... but that didn't do it for me. I realized soon after the purchase that stock M3s do not hold my interest. But I wasn't planning on buying another M3, I just thought I'd end up dumping a boatload of money into my bone-stock '98. One day, I was browsing that message board again, and I noticed that the owner of that '99 I really liked put his car up for sale. The rest is history

Here are some pics of my M3, my friend's E46 M3, and his dad's TTX50 (which just got the Evo stg. 3 treatment done): www.suneal.net/funwithgermancars

I took their 996TT out for the first time that day, and MAN, is it fast! I was cruising along the highway in 6th, and my friend said to me, "Give it some gas!". I don't think it's possible to refuse this offer when you're driving a 550hp 911 Turbo... so, naturally, I dropped it in 4th, and put the pedal to the floor. I felt the car speed up some... and then the turbos kicked in. At that point, my internal organs shifted

Your car is beautiful nonetheless. No offense to your friend, but I think your car looks much better than his. The CCW's really sets it off. Tell your friend to throw on some BBS LM's on his car, it'll make a world of difference.

BTW, I have a pair of Sparco Milano's (black/grey) for your car if you ever want to swap seats to adjustable ones. They've been sitting in my attic for quite some time, I had it in the car for about 2months before I sold the car...never got around to selling them.

For some reason, my friend's car looks funny in the pictures I took. It's really nice in person. LMs are BEAUTIFUL, but they're relatively heavy, and his car is for sale anyway (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=396815). He's getting a 997S.

Have you ever owned an E46 M3? Want to give it a try?

Thanks guys! I just took off the wing today, and MAN, does it look great without it. I'm going to purchase another decklid so I can drive spoilerless on the street and with the wing (and risers, these extension blocks that go btwn the base and top part) at the track.

Well, you should definitely consider my friend's M3 that is for sale, if you're at all interested in getting another. Don't let the roll bar and race seats scare you away, he just likes to be safe when he is at the track (they were some of the first mods he put on). The car is very comfortable on the street, much more than my car. When the shocks are at a softer setting, the car rides even better than a stock E46 M3. He really put a lot of time, effort, and money into the car, and it shows. It's VERY well-sorted. I've spent more time around his car than anybody else besides him, so this isn't coming from one quick ride in it.
