All I can say its very fast in the top end, I dont like the engines characteristics that much I am more into torquey cars than high revving one's

Auto mode is completely worthless and should be avoided at all costs - I've used it once. Cab is nice but looks like crap with the top up. Adds a ton of weight above the center of gravity.

I agree with Jamie, auto-mode is horrible. The SMG auto mode was bad in the e46 M3, with the heavier M5 and M6, you better wear a neck brace = )

well i understand the SMGIII will be alittle more rough compared with say AMG SpeedShift but is it livable??? and is it really that crazy in S6 Sport mode??? and how is the everyday usablility of the car??? i currently have a Kleemann SL65 AMG and yes it is the most torquey car i've had or ever sat in... so torque i can compromise for the next car... and does anyone have any good opinion or suggests this M6???

If you already have a Kleemann SL65, I wouldnt reccomend an M6 it will feel less powerful because you got used to that surplus torque with the SL, Why dont you consider something else such as an Aston Martin Db9 its torqueir than the M6 and could keep up with it in some ways

you are probably right about the M6's power delievery... and i expected the M6 to feel nothing like the 65... your suggestion about the DB9 is great but i am worried about a NEW DB9's resale... i can't get a used one because i can't find one with my colour of desire... i am actually waiting for used 599s or LP640 in Toronto so the M6 would be like a early replacement for the daily driver 65 but i am keeping the 65 until the two do become available so i am not worried about the M6's power... does any one own a M6 and reading this post??? please explain why you got the car and what other cars were under consideration and what did you replace??? much thanks

The M cars are weird in that they don't feel fast when just tooling around town. You would never know you're in a 500HP sports car driving down main street. It's because of the lack of torque in their engines. You need to get them in the upper RPM ranges (6000 and above) to get the "M experience". Once the engine starts revving, everything becomes clear!

As I said, auto is useless, but manual mode is excellent, just as smooth as a three pedal manual. S6 shifts at redline are truly crazy - I get rubber into 2nd and 3rd - as an example, see the recent vids posted by Gustav - that chirping is coming from the M6 with two people aboard against the 997TT.

I have loved my M5 and I suspect I will have an M6 within the next couple weeks.

T&C is anxious to move the Black/Portland car they have, however the paintwork doesn't give me great confidence that the car has been well-treated. Miss. is starting to realize that Jilani's car will have to be significantly discounted if it is to move.

A very powerful car...I never saw it in action at high speeds...Once I saw a 645Ci overtaking me on the highway and was very very stable...and seemed easy to control.
In the other hand I saw an M6 in black in my town in which there's plenty of trafic and seemed very agile....no problems at all!

I think Mana had one.

Get an M6 if you want one. I can't imagine that you'd hate the car, but it definitely won't compare to your SL. Buy it, drive it like you stole it and trade it in for a 997 GT3. You won't be disappointed with that car.
