I raced my buddy's 335 the other night in my M5 and it's pretty fast. Although I won both times (from a roll and from a stop) by over a car length, I can say that if I didnt launch properly from a stop, he would have taken me through at least 3rd gear. (although he was automatic).

 

The 335 with bolt ons still wont come close to an M3 as an overall performer, m sorry!

Have you guys even driven one? I'll take an E46 m3 ANY DAY!

 

i agree with you on that martin. youd need pss9s to get rid of that lofty feel of normal bimmers and give you the feel of the tight m3 suspension. the m3 while it wont be as fast but thats just something that you need to decide whats important, handling and speed or just speed and a little bit of handling. BTW, im going to take a look at a seal grey on black turbo tomorrow!

 

Yea i know, but you know how people speculate. I hate when people see the numbers, and think ts automatically fast. From first hand experience, ive beaten or lost by a miniscule amount opposed to a hgher hp and tq car. The new m3 will be fast highway and on the track out of the box!

 

it will! you know speculation will always come into play, some might say we are speculating on how fast it will be on the track since its going to be a heavier car. either way, the m3 is meant to compete will more higher end cars. they surely spend enought making it fast and on R&D and all that to make the engine a good one. do i think the new m3 will be like the e46, NO WAY! the e46 is just a good looking and performing car while the new one will prob perform at the point of the carrera to carrera S and we all know how fast they are on the highway and track. i think the new m3 falls down in terms of price. for 70+K on a coupe id rather buy the 911, or just buy an e46 and SC it!

 

only problem with that is that in the back of my mind, i would always be like i want a 911, i want a 911. Trust me a gallardo is in near future.

 

SC'd E46 M is useless, no traction and not that quick (stg 3 excluded, dont have experience with it)

Anyway all im saying is, just because 335 s putting out 400 hp and tq after flash and some stuff, doesnt mean its "fast" haha, people dont understand this. M3 will not dissapoint, even though i am dissapointed so far im a firm believer it will kick ***!

 

Indeed Martin! The new M3 will kick major *** once it comes out. No matter what it looks like

But if it ends up being mid to high 70's, I think I'll probably go with a used 996TT. Only time will tell!

 

Yea man, BMW is not stupid! But i would also go for a 996TT x50 probably over a new M3!

i had shiv flash my evo when i had it. all i can say is wow! it pulled like crazy (bone stock) i had power gains in every gear.if i had some mods, i.e full exhaust cams etc the car would do incredible #s

what makes Shiv kinda sketchy is that he does not have a real address ala Alex @ sharkwerks. he will meet you somewhere and do the flash. he takes cash & CC. he sends you a reciept via e-mail. I dunno i was a little spooked at first but i was very happy with the result
